I took my reeds off last night and the MAG side looked fine.

It looks like there is a couple of minor chips on only one of the PTO reeds so my thought is to replace just that reed. Is there any reason I should replace both reeds on the PTO side since one reed pettal would have higher miles then the other....??

As well, I noticed that they seal up the reed cages/gaskets with some sort of silicone - any idea what I should use when putting everything back together again?

If it were me I would replace all the pedals. If one chipped how far behind are the others. Also, not for sure, if one has been opening and closing all this time and the other is new, wouldn't the old one open easier and sooner?

All the other ones look fine and I'm guessing will stay that way for some time...?

But, if I'm to replace all reeds would it not be best to consider Boyseen Power Reeds since they are about the same as stock reeds - or a bit cheaper? The issue I have with Boyseen is I don't know the longevity and supposedly it will richen things up.

I got VF III's but If I were to use stock cages I was going to get carbon Tech reeds.

IMO it would be pointless to replace just one pedle, replace em as a set that way youll have no worries.

I have a stock set that was only used for one tank of break in gas ( 03 ZR8 ) After that I put the vforce 3's in....... Not shure If they are the same as your ZR9 but if they happen to be and you still need them , $20 for the set.

Thanks guys - I have one pettal on order so I'm covered now for stock reeds.

Looking at the Carbon Tech which someone else here has for sale.....Just need to confirm they are interchangeable between a ZR800 and ZR900 - Carbon Tech doesn't list the ZR900 on the website.

I think they are. But you should call them and make sure.
