this problem is really weird. is is for some reason running out of gas on itself, but there is plenty of gas in the tank. i took the carbs all apart, cleaned them out, took the jets all out, they were a little dirty, but gas could still get by, put it back togheter it still wasnt fixed, it will start up and run for about 30 secs, then just bog itself out and wont run for a few hours, then after a few hours you can start it back up, run for about 30 secs and it will shut back off. i also cleaned the petcock out, little dirty but gas could still get by

make sure the vent tube on your gas cap isn't clogged or pinched shut.

did you pull the float needle seats out? i don't know about the banshee carbs but some have a screen on the inlet side that can get plugged up.

If you still have the TORS hooked up try unplugging them or try holding the throttle open a little bit when you start it . If it stays running with the throttle open a little then your problem lies in the safety circuit . :div20:

i considered this also, but didn't figure it would take a few hours before it would start again dunno.gif

my banshee used to do that same thing and it took me 6 months to figure out it was bad gas, I drained it and put new gas in and it ran great after that

masterbrushhog has the right idea, the end of the tank vent tube gets melted closed and does'nt allow gravity feed to the carbs

I had a similar problem on my banshee but it turned out not to be gas related. It was start up but then kill itself. Turned out that the connection for the ignition was dirty and would kill the motor. Dust is able to get into the electrical.

all your ideas seem logical. i dont think it is teh ignition. tonight i took off the air filters and took some gas in a spray bottle and sprayed it directly into teh carbs, and it was firing, very messed up obviously because i was dumping large amounts of gas into teh carbs, but still, it was firing. i got teh problem fixed, but i now got another problem. it is gettin a tad bit nipply here, i think it was 22 this mornin. sitting outside my banshee will not start, bring it in teh garage and warm up the plugs with a torch, she will start right up, run as long as you want in teh garage. while running, open the door and bring it out side. as soon as it hits the cold air it shuts off, bring it back into teh heat and it will start right back up. it has something to do with teh cold air, but dont motors usually waken right up...?
