I am picking up my t660 turbo touring next week!!!! :banana: :banana:
I have a friend that wants to buy the polaris FST touring how do they compare to each other?? stock to stock.

Ride, they are very close, both of them ride real nice. If you mean in a race against one another, the FST will win hands down.

from a numbers stand point the fst is 140 hp the turbo 660 is 110. The advertised dry weights are pretty close though. The fst has a more rider forward chassis. 660 is basically a zr chassis. This mostly depends on your preference but rider forward does seem to be the demand.

I am all for the cat because my dealer is pretty good. I was just wondering because a bud is a die hard polaris fan and he is sitting on the fence about a fst. He is sorta like me just having a hard dime going from the sports car to the mini van.
I know the fst will probably beat the t660 turbo. I was thinking more for reliability and ride. I think the rider forward thing is great but there is no knocking the handling of a ZR chassis.
Personally I wouldn't trade a ZR type chassis in a touring sled for a rider forward touring sled. I would think the rider forward would be a little more top heavy. Maybe I am wrong. But if he buys the fst I will get to find out first hand.
He will probably love to finally beat one of my cats.. For years I have had the smaller displacement sled than him and I have always been able to beat him.. :div20:

The T660 is as reliable as a rock. The FST has been anything but reliable. I'm sure Polaris has the problems figured out by now?
The windshield on the FST flops around like grannys tits! The T660 windshield is worlds better.
The FST is quite a bit faster.
The FST is a lot noiser, both wind noise and mechanical noise.
The T660 has a much more "refined" feel. The Polaris feels loose and sloppy, kinda thrown together.
The T660 engine is smoother, both at idle and at speed.
The FST has no turbo lag-at all.
The T660 has tons of turbo lag.

my next sled may be a T660 as well, and that info helps. What is the top speed of a T660?

The highest I have ever seen on mine is 99 mph. It will show that on hard pack every time. In 4" or more snow, it will show a fastest of 90 ish.

104mph on a Garmin GPS :beerchug: but that was with a custom exhaust and 10tooth drivers :div20:

I ve only gotten about 95 mph out of mine. It took a long time to get to that though. Its pretty quick to 80 though.

Wow I thought the FST would be a better sled. maybe just needs refining. I know there were some updates from reading on the FST site. but that could be said about the 660 as well. I am really looking forward to the new to me 660. I think it will be a blast to cruise on it.. and stay warm to boot.(heated seats!!) :div20:
When you talk turbo lag I didn't notice it on this sled. (it was a friends that I drove for about 20 miles last season) How bad should it be and is it worth being concerned about?

It will be a preference thing... The lag doesnt bother me some people hate it though

FST owners complain of massive oil leaks when tipping the machine on it's side. Can the T660 be tipped up on its side?

NO! The T660 cannot be tipped on its side. The airbox fills with oil, and the engine can hydraulic lock.

what do you do if you do go on your side? ie in a ditch or something?

If you turn the sled upright immediatly, Cat says no damage should occur, but you should still check the airbox for oil. That's in a quick tip-over. Just don't tip it over on purpose for working on it.
