Good to hear there's a forum that includes the NWT. I'm a new addition. Picking up my 2006 Renegade 600HO in a few days. Havent owned a sled in toooo many years, hope I dont kill myself on the first ride. Anyone have any opinions on wheather to go with snowcross helmet or full face?

From my experience a full face is better. Cold winds up here mixed with speed can give you frostbite without you even knowing it. I suggest spending a lot on a nice helmet, one that wont fog up on you.

I'm a fan of the sno-x helmet. Just find a good balaclava to wear under with a no-fog. make sure the area beside your goggles are covered. Trying to find a good full face that doesn't fog is almost impossible. just my opinion

I went with the Open face with a good set-up underneath; No-Fog, Oversized goggles, etc. Pretty cold outside this morning but the ride to work was fine. We'll see on the colder days.
Misprint.. got a 2007 Rene 600.... love it

F#*%'n thieves, :banghead: There is a problem that is plagueing this city. Rotor Head, be sure to lock your shit up because there's a good chance some punk or crack head will steal your brand new fancy machine.

I thought the new Ski-Doo's were virtually unstealable? They've got that special chip in the key. I've got it hidden pretty well, and it'll be airside at the airport for the summer. Anyone hops that fence and it's a federal felony... go directly to jail.

I heard about those chips, my buddy bought a new 800 and has that feature. He told me that it will start with other keys but wont idle up enough to move. Your snowcross helmet setup works good eh? Your face mask dosn't get all frosty and iced up by your breath and snow? What's been your longest ride so far? I am going to get a new helmet, I was going to get one of those $500 crostec helmets with dual shields and breath deflectors and vents. But if the snowcross works I might consider it.

The longest trip we took so far was about 170km's. Minus 25-28, and speeds up to 150kmh across lakes. Didnt get frost bite, but a little uncomfortably cold at times. And ya I had a lump of frozen snot (nice eh?) on my no fog, but i didnt notice it until i popped my helmet off. I got the flat black bombardier sno-x helmet.

I havent tried it but my mechanic says it will idle, but it wont go past 2500 rpm's.
