Our club (
OVSC) ) has a Tucker Terra 1000 with a 16-08 MM drag. We also have a Ski-Doo SWT with a MM 8-04. Last Year was our first year with the Tucker 1000. We traded in an older Tucker 2000 with steel tracks.

I would just like to be able to use the blade without the fear of breaking a tie rod. :banghead: When are you going to hit the Casino again and see if you can win enough to buy me a Bully?

The Pittsburg Ridge Runners have 2 '06 Piston Bully Edges', 1 '07 Piston Bully Edge, 1 89 Piston Bully (for sale) 1 '03 Sur Trac. The Bullys are set up to use ten foot Mogul Masters and the Sur Trac uses its own unique drag which actually makes the hardest trail of anything I've ever seen, its just not as flexible as the Bullys pulling in snow off the outside of the corners.
We have recently stretched to buy the latest Bully. It was either buy it or put serious money in one of our older '89's. One was traded that needed work and the other, which is still in pretty good shape is up for adoption.
The second and forth pics are the older Bully looking for a new home.

Trailhawks, we have a 1999 LMC 1800 with a 180 HP CAT turbo diesel and 32 inch wide tracks (2) we pull a 8 foot wide X 18 foot long drag don't know the brand but it is a commercial one, we actually have 2 drags the same and one is in town and one out in the country for our 2 sections of trail we groom then we have to haul the groomer back and forth to do it.. All I know is it makes the trail really smooth...
Our old groomer was a 1962 Thiokol made by LMC it had manual steering clutches in it and was a bear to drive, sure am glad we got a newer one, no one else would run the old one but me

Nice to see a grooming forum!
Our club has been around since 1970 and has used various machines over the years. 1970's Alpine, Bombardier J5, 1990's Alpine II - those machines pulled the old Bombardier single blade groomer we had. We later installed an electric lift on the front of it to avoid having the driver get off to adjust the height of the blade.
After that we purchased a 1972 Bombardier SV200 and a 1994 Mogul Master 8x16. Then we moved up to a 1978-9 SV252 (with aluminum cleats) and pulled the same groomer.
Last season we traded the SV252 and cash for TWO 1994 BR400+ machines from northern California. Both were in running condition and we picked the better of the two to be our main machine. The other machine has turned into a parts donor. We pulled the 8x16 Mogul Master last season and made extensive modifications to it this summer and it is now 11'4" wide by 22' long!!!!!!!!

OT...I looked into grooming a little bit last year as it is something I think I would be interested in doing. I don't have a lot of time to invest, as I am busy with school, but I would love to pitch in every now and then. But I don't know...do clubs usually have plenty of people to run the groomers or do they need people? I talked to a guy who is an active member in a local club in Berlin, I think he may even groom too, but he said you need to be 21 to run a groomer. Is this true?

First let me say thank you all for your hardwork and dedication to our sport, over the years it's been a rare occasion to cross paths on the trail with you guys but it sure brings pure joy and jubilation when I do.
And thanks for sharing your pictures as well. As a diesel-head/sled-head I have learned to appreciate tractors of all kinds and marvel at the groomers you operate. I don't know if any of you read the small article in the December AmSnow but it was a great piece and a long overdue homage to groomers. Thanks again for your efforts and I look forward to seeing more pictures from the upcoming winter.

You won't break tie rods pushing snow. Stumps and rocks are another deal.
We run Tuckers for 9 seasons and have only broke 2 rod ends. And both times it was operator error.
