Its getting to the point that we will have a goverment cop with us 24/7 . Cant speed, cant smoke, cant do this ,cant do that ect...
I like this thread below
Those Born 1930-1979!
TO ALL THE KIDS
WHO SURVIVED the
1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we
rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and
NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank koolade made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because .
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING !
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day.
And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down
the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms.......
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang
the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.
They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned
HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL!
If YOU are one of them . . . CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as
kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives
for our own good
And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!
The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks,"Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

They had radar set up 2 years ago in laTuque behind the airstrip got a ticket for 90km in a 20 km zone, you ever try to go 20 km on a mile long drag strip? I think you could walk faster! any way he was hiding behind a tree, the fine was like a $110 mailed it in a couple weeks later, in fact I over payed due to conversion and the sent me a check back! :beerchug:

I go by the theory that when your with a group if the first guy in line gets nailed and everyone else gets through the group splits the fine because he saved everyone else from the same fate.
I like to ride 60-75 in Quebec and will deal with whatever happens because of that. Here in NH we are 45 but in addition to the ticket you have to take a class to be able to register next year, pain in the ass.

We saw 2 traps last year in PQ. One was just south of Beauceville on TQ75 and the other was on TQ35 near Tourville.
It was too rough in Beauce to speed so we were ok there. The other one we were alerted by oncoming sleds.
TQ35 is a real fast railbed. Could have easily been going 120KPH +

Its definately hard to resist holding it to the bars on most of the trails in Quebec!! I think if you use your head and respect corners and other riders there should be a judgement call made by the cops. If your on the river(347) and your going 100mph I dont see a problem with that. If your in a corner at 80mph and on the wrong side of the trail out of control thats a different story. Im sure thats not how the cops see it so I'll probably just pay the fine and slow down until they are out of sight and then back on the throttle!! :div20:

i've been reg checked just south of 75 but didn't see any speed trap. Tourville heading east on 35 is probbaly the fastest place you can ride safe I've ever been on, I'll ride that faster than I'll run a lake because theres no rifts, it also makes me realize I should have bought an 800 or 1000 renegade.

The speed trap was just south of the club rendezvous in St george. Not a big deal there. They were hiding behind shrubs on the pwer line.
The other one was
west of where 55 and 35 intersect.
""I'll ride that faster than I'll run a lake because theres no rifts""I thought the same thing about TQ35 until last year. about 1/4 mile past Relais 540 some A-hole plowed a road across the rail bed. Hitting a 3' deep trough at 75mph hurts....

Thats why I like the other end of 35 better less places for people to screw it up till you get close to 551. I actually think that trail is pretty boring other than you can make great speed and crossover 547/549 which is a trail I really like to drop to Lac Etchemin.
I hit a big drift on first conneticut lake in pittsburg last winter, amazing what you can think of as you fly through the air and hit unexpectedly. Almost ended off the sled because i ride with my feet back out of the footwells, grabbed the moutain bar to stay on.

I am Not positive but I think the speed limit has always been 70km. And unfortunately for me I know it has been enforced. Last year year I got caught on the rail line near Mt. Laurier doing slightly over 100mph the ticket was $305.00 the cop told me it was a set fine no matter how fast you were going over the limit. Damn I had some left in the big Z!!!

Why were you doing 100 mph in that area when local snowmobile clubs got hit hard with trail closure on a portion of the railroad bed.I am sorry to say this but I am glad you got caught. :frech32:

I hear ya. We just left Relais 540 and was leading. I nailed the throttle When I saw the path cut across the trail and kind of jumped across it. I thought my skid frame came through the seat when I hit the other side. As soon as I had control I looked back to see my buddies sled doing cart wheels down the middle of the trail. With the snowdust he just drove right in to it. He was dazed and confused but OK. Thanks Tekvest!!

We also heard of radar set up on the river trail 347, 24miles on the river, hey Bernard isn't that piston alley? We were at Richards place and a couple of people said to watch out for radar on the river, had to do the limit all the way down, that sucked it was smooth as could be too! :beerchug:
