Jamie
Hope someone can help me out.
6 of us are planing a trip from northern Montreal area heading to La Tuque area for 5 days. I have contacted a few hotels where we would be trailering to and spending the first night but none seem intrested in letting us leave our vechicals (3) in the lot for the next 4 days.
Would anyone have any sugestions on where to stay the first night and be able to leave our vechicals the next 4 days?

Thanks

Jamie

I've heard nothing but problems when leaving vehicles unattenterd in Montreal or thereabouts. Your better off staying a night at say a Comfort Inn or another motel of choice in St. Jovite to the west and leaving from there. We have done trips from that area north for several days....never had a problem.

You can even leave them farther west like in Montpellier or Mont Laurier and loop over to La Tuque.

Thanks guys, I am trying to keep the driving distance down from Toronto. I was hoping to keep it to within 1 hour of Montreal (West or North West) keeping away from St. Donet & St. Zenon area due to the theft problem. I will continue to look and post names of places I find and see if someone has left there vechicals there in the past.

Jamie I have left my truck at the Evasion Motel on Lac Simon near Cheneville, TQ43 and Rt323 run right by there. This motel is way off the beaten track and the owners are great and the president of the local club Jacques Fecteau speaks perfect english and will help you with any problems you have. When we had one guy who broke his shoulder at the very start of a trip Jacques dropped everything and came to his rescue. Helped us with the medevac and sled rescue. I have friends from Barrie and this is where they start.

You should always consider HCS advertisers they are the ones that keep this site running. Bernard certianly has a passion as a service provider. He isn't that far out of your way, I would feel very safe leaving my vehicle with Bernard.

Wow...shocked to hear that. I've even left my new sled parked overnight right in the middle of the little island by the hotels front entrance a couple times on the night managers assurance it'd be fine...never had a problem with any sort of theft. Stayed at the Mountian view...good place also.

We've left ours at the Comfort Inn too without issue...only once though. It was in December 2004 I think...and I just found a pic.

Last year middle of March we left our truck at La Cuilliere a Pot and it was fine...until we loaded up to go home. Buddy parked his truck and trailer in front of the little restaurant, even left it running to warm up as we went in for a bite to eat before hitting the road. When we got home a couple hours later and started to unload, my other buddies '05 Mach had a side panel missing.

Someone had the nerve to go in the trailer while the truck was running and steal the side panel. Nothing else was missing in the trailer, so someone must have needed it. We were talking to a few other guys from New York who were towing in a Mach the same as my buddies, so we can only assume it was them, but really have no idea.

When we got home that night and noticed it missing, we called La Cuilliere but they didn't offer to do much other than take our name. I guess we couldn't expect them to do anything.

Next time I guess we'll lock the trailer, even if we're only a few feet away!!!
