I went into kens the other day and they gave me a shitty deals and i said Ecklund has this cheaper so they gave me the Ecklund price and they said they wouldn't go any lowers. I went to the snow show it it was another 200 bucks cheaper. I'm getting sick of the bs from them. me and my family have bought 4 snowmobiles and 1 dirt bike. They still treat people who been going there and buying thing for the last 5-6 year like shit. I dont mind the peopel working there but i do mind there prices and how they do things. I still do go there to get things becuase theya re cheap but all of this running around stuff is getting a little annoying. Oh yeah if you find a better price in Wisconsin they will probley match it if you tell them i am willing to drive there to get the sled.

Sound just like any other dealer....you have to get the quote first. It doesn't matter if its a atv, car , truck or snowmobile...there is a commission to be made and sales people are going to try and get the most they can. Mortage bankers are the worst.

I dont need to keep my local dealer going becuz everybody else does it. I bought so many things from them and my dad did too so i think they can give me a good deal. Shit dude they are Wisconsin #1 dealer for the last i dunno how many years and plus they know me well enought cuz i been going there scence i was little they take me vary seriously. More seriouse than you and plus they have so many crossfires left over its not even funny they can affored to give me a good deal and plus when you cant take a loan nor your parents will do it for you its a big deal and i have 2 other dealers who are willing to match prices and give me the deal again
I also dont take anybodys shit that they guive me when it come to this

I called there in late spring/ early summer for prices on crossfires, and the guy was just a dick. I'm not sure why either. I asked for prices on Xfire 6/7 & std.& SP. He was well over what Country Cat had quoted me and said he was the lowest price around. He was lower than the dealer I used to deal with, but not by a whole lot. I mentioned to him that it was a little higher than expected because it was higher than some other quote I got and he proceeded to tell me that he didn't need my business.
I did end up buying used, but still got an almost brand new sled for well under what he quoted me for Xfire 6 std. That was my one and only "experience" with them.
That being said, I have heard some good things about them too.

If a dealer or salesperson treats you bad? speak to the owner and if you get NO satisfaction, use another dealer. I used the same dealer for along time and his new salesperson was just a dick. The owner did not know about it until I told him. Now were cool again. :div20:

Heres what I can tell you about Kens. I live as close as you do (Wrightstown)
1. I ride a doo but I own a Mercury Motor on my boat (Kens Services Mercury). Took my boat in when it began running crappy. They did a full tune up and carb synch (Motor is a 60HP tiller) after service it runs like a dream. But I thought the service/tune up was a little exspensive ($395 bucks). But it runs great so I take it with a grain of salt. Would I take it there again, proabably.
2. My buddy rides a Polaris. He had to have his fuel tank replaced because the neck broke right at the fuel cap(2004 ProX800). We did the work ourselves. More than a year after my friend got a recall notice for this exact issue, he still had the old tank laying around. He gave a call to whomever he worked with an explained the situation. The guy had him bring in the old tank and gave him a check for the amount he paid for the tank he bought. Cool enough.
3. I have heard of horror stories from Kens, as well as great deals. I know first hand I have found some deals on off brand clothing and left overs that are truely deals.
Ultimately it really comes down to comfort level, regular customer and knowing who your dealing with. If your not getting what you think you deserve do as someone else suggested ask for a "Higher Authority". If after that your still not happy find a new dealer. I swear by my doo dealer Simonars in Luxemburg and know I can just make a call and get a price and I know its a good price. If I tell them I want it it's set aside no questions asked.

I have to say this about Ken's....If you need a part, nine times out of ten they will have it. That goes along way with me. Have you ever gone out into the used parts garage? It's unbelievable the inventory they have in there! Skids, hoods, tracks, complete motors, you name it! Ken's is a large very well run dealership. I'm always willing to pay a few bucks extra for good service.
I realize some of you guys are young and six extra dollars for a gear can be a deal breaker, but if you need that gear that day or for the up coming weekend its worth it. Sometimes you have to pay extra for convenience. Kens charges me Cat's SRP on all new parts. That is what I pay at any other Cat dealer.
I bought my King Cat up in Marquette MI and when I needed warranty work done I took it to Ken's and they worked on it no problem as they should, but some dealers might work on it last because they probably only make half of shop wage on warranty work.
It's been my experience that if you pay a little extra to forge a good relationship with your dealer on your first sled you will probably always get the best deal after that. But if you go in there with a chip on your shoulder trying to show them who's boss you will probably just get a standard price quote.
Just my 2cents

Good points PaulR. These guys need to make a living too. They have some expenses to cover-keep their tech's up to date on training, inventory of parts, and everything else that goes with having the business.
Build a good relationship with whichever dealer and it'll work out.

If you dont like Ken's, then dont go there. I always by my wife's AC stuff there, cause nobody in the Fox Valley sells gear and parts cheaper, even Ecklund from what I have seen.
And dont compare snow show prices to their egular prices. Most sled manufacturers offer lower prices or rebates to the dealers for sleds sold at snow shows versus in their own stores from what I heard.
Next time you buy a sled, do your homework, and tell them that you want them to beat the lowest price you have found. If all else fails, approach them at the snow shows.
Ken's is not he cheapest for service, but the couple problems I had with my Arctic Cat were quickly fixed, and never had problems with those parts since they replaced them.

My buddy bought a leftover, new '06 F7 Crossfire S/P from Cody at Ken's today. They were $1,000 less than R&S in Shawano PLUS, they threw in a helmet, a gallon of oil, and an extra belt. We both live in Shawano so naturally he tried to buy at R&S first. First, they lied and said there was no rebate from the factory ($800), then, when he showed them the price worksheet from Ken's they accused him of filling it out himself to try to scam them. Needless to say, he bought the sled at Ken's. R&S lost his business on the sled by being too expensive, but they lost his and my family's business forever by accusing him of being a liar. I hope someone from R&S reads this.

i got over my issue with kens me and them are all good now. but i would have to agree to accuse of someone with lieing and shit like that is gone to far. kens always throws in oil and belt, but never herd of a helemt before and it all depends if your new there or not and how much you pay for it
( now i get underneath the table deals there so i would have to say helemet was reasonable)

I'm picking up my Crossfire tomorrow, or is it tody?? LOL! Ken's has a great price on that sled to move the 06's. It's lower than the sheet they have taped to the sled so just ask. I didn't get offered any extras but I'm going to hit them up for the oil and the belt, but a good price on a cover would be even better.

Arctic-cat gave them a promotion last weekend to get rid of there 06's thats why they are so cheap, but with this i am only saving 104 bucks because underneath table deals so thats why u got it and may i ask it was a 700 right, cuz that 600 is mine (should be mine) if parents weren't such ****'s about it
Also ask them when you get there about a cover and shit like that it helps just bombard them and you should get most of it and if you dont get shit tell me ill seriously talk to them for you they are practicaly in my back yard

I find Ken's to be a decent dealership. They only ever really got me on the bearing for my chaincase. At $21 a piece that hurt. But for the most part when I go there they have the parts for my sled. Also being that my sled is an RXL it is tough to get the sensors. I went to the dealer on the west side of town (can't remember the name) and asked if they could get it here faster, and Ken's had them beat by almost a week. I also went there a few weeks ago with my driveshaft in hand and some new extroverted drivers I had. Chris said they didn't have a big enough press, then he gave me the number of a guy down the road who could do them. Stuff like that is why I go there. Typically they offer good deals on sleds and are decent on parts. I bought a brand new 1.25 ripsaw there and they got me for 338, with tax, which if you look on ebay is the going rate with shipping. Don't get down if they didn't help you out once, I'll tell you what they try their best to get your business, but when you low-ball them with a used sled they can't sit there and dicker with you. That used sled has depreciated a ton since it was taken off the sales floor, you can't compare that with a new sled. I don't know they seem decent to me.

Guys
I would think at some point it really isn't as much about price as it is service. When you need quick service or a part which isn't available unless they take it off of a showroom sled, or just technical advice on a problem, can they hep you and handle the situation. Dealers like Kens can give better pricing because of volumes, but then you get in line when it comes to warranties and service help. I would gladly pay a little more up front too be taken care of down the road. My 2 cents
