had to finally take some of my own meat home. took this guy saturday afternoon chasing a doe. sorry for the crummy pic, the camera battery was dead and had to use the cell phone. than doctor the brightness up abit. decent 8 piont frame with a broken left brow and front half of main beam. dressed about 190'ish. several holes and scars from fighting.

been having a pretty good season, shoot over the back of a really big 8 point the bow opener. passed on quite a few basket racks and stick heads this year. lots of competition for position where i have been hunting. the big bucks have been doing an over abundance of rubbing and scraping. three of the spots i have set up have produced some good sized bucks, but damm it :banghead: everyone i've had in bow range has had broken tines. the nice ones just as usual, dance around for hours just out of bow range testing your willpower. hopefully that will change tomorrow with the rife opener

getting pretty good at animal weight guesstimation, but my fishing stories always weight several pounds heavier than the scale shows dunno.gif
went 186 on the butcher scale. the horns weighted just a tad over 4 pounds. probably took out better than 10 pounds of fat when i field dressed the chunker. the area i took this buck from we call the pig farm. we've taken several over 200 there, and the biggest one a 9 point (which i bagged) went 251 after three days of hanging was just mamuth. my truck bed was 8 foot, and with his ass flat against the cab wall his head still hung over the open tailgate abit.

Eating some fresh backstraps right now. Buddy wacked a big doe friday and she processed her this afternoon. Found a 30.06 slug in her(buddy has a .270), a broken rear leg and a broken front leg. Buddy shot her through neck and dropped her. It looked like she had been through a war zone. Doubt that she would have made it through the winter, alot of wounds and hardly any fat on her. Bone marrow in rear leg was all crumbley, bullet wound not healing. There was alot of wasted meat in her, but the backstraps are sure tasty. :beerchug:
