Myself and a few friends from Fall River, NS will be heading over to NL in the months of march/april for a few trips and just wondering who else from NS will be going over for a trip. We stay in Deer Lake and we go to the Lewis Hills and Gros Morne. You've never experienced awesome snowmobiling till you've been on the ROCK

Let me know when you guys plan on going and where in NL and where you guys plan on staying becuase I have a place to stay in Deer Lake. Huge empty house during the winters, Christina's parents go away during the winter to Florida so I have a huge empty warm free house too stay at and room for friends.
I lived in Deer Lake for two years and have been sledding there for the past five years so I have a good idea on the trail system. I have some trails on my GPS
We have to try and get Rocky over to the Rock, see if we can get him to leave the Cape :div20:

What a Caper Invasion we could have. :beerchug: We are planning our trip for February 27, the night crossing staying till March 5. We went last year the end of March but this year planning on taking my wife over then this year. Can't go March break heading to Cancun. We always stayed in Stephenville at the DreamCatcher. You must hook up with the Hillbillies, they love to ride, always game for a good ride. Love to go over with you guys in Feb. but I will be in Florida for a few weeks but come March I will be on the Rock. Those boys on the Rock sure know how to handle those machines, seeing them go up some of those hills is crazy. Hard to beat the Rock for sledding plus the people are Awesome (great combo.)
Had to travel 2 hours away to the Highlands when I lived in Louisdale Cape Breton (growing up) and now I have to travel from Fall River NS to NFLD but it's all worth it when you get to Port aux Basque and start heading towards Corner Brook

Wow. looks as if we'll have many Caper invasions this winter, yee ha!!!
I saw a comment about stickers, no probs there, just figure out what size you want, and what color. The most popular ones for sleds are the 5" ones, in either black or white. For trucks, you can go mega with a 3 foot wide one, or a medium at 12".
Looks like the hills will be busy this winter, can't wait!!! Make sure you give us some notice once you confirm dates.
Nasty, don't worry about size of crowds, as long as everyone knows that they are responsible for themselves. I've taken groups of 50 in the hills, just need a good anchor incase somebody goes astray :div20:

Can somebody please post the pricing for the trail passes this year? Also, with the scheduled influx of Capers and other "mainlanders" this winter, we'll need to know what the different day/week pass prices are.
Thanks.
I believe it is the same pricing as last year. $60 until Dec 1/06 and $80 after.
$23 for three day pass and $46 for one week pass.
For the Capers that are thinking about making at least two trips it might be worth it for them to buy a season pass before Dec 1/06.

Hi guys, thought I would update you with this info on Trail Passes for our area, since you should have one by law when you come over.
"The new early bird deadline is on or before December 15. That means that you will get your trail sticker for $60 until this time.
If you are taking advantage of the family rate you will get it for $60 first machine, $40 second machine and $40 third machine. Remember the family rate is for three sleds per household, and proof of registration is required when purchasing your family stickers.
After the deadline date of December 15 the cost of stickers will be $80, $60 and $60."
So, for fellers like Tousan with more than one sled it will cost you $100 for both for the year! If you are planning to come for more than one trip, or longer than three days, you should take advantage of the early bird prices now. Other prices are $23 for three day pass and $46 for one week pass.
Let me know if you need help on getting them.

Well Jeff, our yearly Caper Invasion trip, we are planning on heading over the night of February 27 and coming back March 5th. I know a few other guys are planning trips on here just don't think the dates are set in stone yet. Might want to check with Dave Fraser and the boys to see when exactly they are coming over. But you are more than welcome to join our group. We have been over there many times and plan to continue going over many times. You won't want to miss out on a trip. We usually meet over the holidays to get exact numbers then we start booking. Chico at the DreamCatcher told us when we were just over there that he would make sure we had enough rooms. You must get the vid to see just what you are missing. Highlands really can't compare to Lewis Hills. Just look at how many people from over here are going over there to invade the hills. Can't wait it is going to be a blast. Just to let you know that we usually go a few days without JUE and the boys into around the back of his cabin and stuff, don't worry, you won't be board. Then they usually join up with us say maybe from Friday on. And don't worry about your track, 136 1 1/4 will be plenty on that STOCK sled. :beerchug:

Do you have a block of rooms reserved or should I call myself for an additional one. Also, can you tell the best way to go about getting two season passes for the early rate or should I contact Jue. Shaker, when we meet over the holidays we get an actual number of guys that are going. Usually I will call and book all the rooms at the DreamCatcher. THis year may do it different, might just tell everyone when we are going and pass on the phone number and let them book the rooms cause I have had people back out at the last minute so this way you book them, you are responsible for them. Will keep you updated though as too when we will get together. As for the passes, just PM JUE to see how you will go about getting passes. If you plan on making more than one trip, yes, get the early bird pass but if it is just our trip you plan on going just by the few day pass when you get over there. That is what we have done in the past anyways. Myself I will be buying a season pass as I will be making more than one trip. As for the ferry, we usually don't book until around a month or so before the trip. Will keep you updated as well.
