I'm looking to buy a 07 Venture XL 500 two-up. Wondering if anyone has an older Venture like this? Have they been good machines?

Hey Terry60...the Venture 500XL is a drop dead reliable sled. My brother has a 1999 model with 3500 km and has had 0 problems. It is a little harder on gas compared to the new liquid cooled machines and very hard on gas compared to a 4 stroke. If I was buying new, I would pop the extra change and seriously look at getting a Venture Lite (4 Stroke). I would think that 2 strokes are on their way out and it would make more sense to buy a Venture XL used but not pop $7000.00 on old technology when you can cut your gas consumption in half, oil consumption to 0, as well as double your range, and finally triple the lifespan of your motor all for $3000.00 more. If you choose the XL, you won't be disappointed either. Good luck Terry60!
