The starter sometimes engages and sometimes it doesn't. I don't want to have to yank on a rope next month so I thought I would take it off and have it checked.

I need to take the starter off and have never done so. I loosened the two bolts highlighted in the picture I attached. It still seems attached pretty good. Anyone know about another bolt?

Sure wish I grew up working on these things!

THREE! The two highlighted bolts are about three inches long. The third bolt is directly under the right bolt and is about an inch and a half long. You must be under the age of 6 to get this bolt out and enjoy cramped fingers, metacarpal fatigue, tedious work, and be able to use at least 9 seperate curse words. Extra credit is given for combining those curse words to make new and innovative words of your own!

Now the trick is going to be getting bolt #3 back in when I get a new starter!
