im in the process of starting a project of putting in a 99 xc 700 motor into a 98 xc 600 chassis. Everything is straight forward except the coolant lines. The pump output is different from 98-99. Does anyone have any suggestions? or know which model hoses to buy for each location?
Thanks for the help

The engine should just drop in. Use everything from the 98. There is only 2 connections one on the bottom and one on the head. From what I can remember all big block twins are exactly the same. Or is it the routing of the bypass line?

no the pump output is in a different location between the motors. im not sure of a gen2 chassis, so i dont know whether buying the hose off the 99 will work in the 98 chassis, and it obviously wont work vise-versa as the 99 motor has the different output. And as you say i now need the thermostat hoses that never came on the 98, i may try a warranty claim to get the parts for the 98 as it was an update i wasnt told about, but that was 8 years ago now.

Not familiar with the 98 engine, but have you downloaded the parts diagrams to see if you can find the exact differences?

I tried to get the thermostat kit years ago, but couldn't. It was only offered as an update for maybe 2 years. I now have decided I don't want to run one.
