A friend of mine who runs an arctic crap.. i mean cat 800 has a 1.6 track.. the same as I just purchased.. he told me that with that large of a lug that i should replace my driveshaft sprockets with a anti ratchet/slip sprocket.. he says with that he can run his track extra loose and because I have this large track I will really have to tighten it in order for it not to slip... and once i do this there will be a lot of friction which will cause hyfax wear and less mpg.. and will almost feel like i am braking when I left off the throttle... Has anyone heard of this or will i be fine with the normal sprockets that are on the driveshaft right now.. also can anyone confirm that i have a 9 tooth drive with a 1-1/16 driveshaft which requires a 1-1/8 hex sprocket ?

I have been told from a guy who ran them that they make ALOT of noise; and said it quiets down a bit after 500-700 mi. Check your driveshaft and see if your running a 2,3,or 4 sproket setup. My machine was a 440 chassis which only uses 2 sprokets and it ratcheted bad. I switched to 4 sprokets using the same used track and in 300 mi of riding didnt ratchet once and my track is much looser than it was before. I was told at the time to go with the 3 sprocket so you dont have to take the chaincase out for a track change, but am happy that I went with 4. (bought one used on ebay with driveshaft for $30) Oh and another thing sprokets are a bitch to get on make sure you have measurements and everything lines up right.

The track will have to be a fully clipped track (not a 3rd closed type) in order to run extroverts. You already have 3 track drivers...You should be ok, but you definitely can run the track looser with the anti-ratchet drivers.

I am pretty sure I only have two drivers.. even the cut sheet of my sled on partsland.com only shows two drivers... see below

you're friend is full of chit... i run a 1.75 track, a 3rd window closed track that I punched myself, i'm not running extros because on the pro-x you HAVE to trim the front of the suspension rails back about an inch, and i run my track pretty damn loose... you don't need extros, money wasted imho...

yes you 9t drivers, and the pro-x has three of them on the shaft unless one was removed...

Yep, Bonz is right. 3 drivers. Two in the middle and one on the right side.

I don't think pdieni sled is a ProXr 800, it might be a ProX 800. I'm only going by his avitar.

If it isn't an 'R' it may only have 2 drivers. Not positive but my manual shows 2 drivers on the ProX. This makes Extroverts a little more attractive. There are drawbacks for sure, who likes cutting rail tips? Polaris gives us lots of options for relocating the skid in the tunnel. Maybe a move back would be enough to clear the drivers. Cutting 1" off the rail tip is usually enough, how about moving the skid back 1". Likely been tried before.

When you get the track to stop ratcheting it's worth the effort.

The ProX 7 and 800 have three track drivers...at least they did in 03. Actually, the XCSP big blocks did too.
