I want to stud my GT but have gotten conflicting recommendations- the track is a 1" paddle and some people are telling me to use 1.25" studs but Woody's website says 1.075" and Studboy says 1.08".
Also do I need tunnel protection and if so where can I buy it?
Thanks for the help!

I installed the 1.075 Woodys and they stick out plenty far. I only did 72 down the middle. I haven't yet installed protectors and my dealer said I shuldn't need to. However I heard the studs will hit the back of the tunnel if you don't. So I'm now installing protectors

Thanks for the info.
Where can I find a 72 stud pattern like you did down the center?
Did you get the tunnel protectors from the dealer and would you happen to have a part number?

I didn't use a template. I just alternated 2 and 1 and staggered them so none line up. I didn't get tunnel protectors yet. I think I'll get them on ebay. I don't know if you'll find them for the phazer yet. You may need some from previous model years.

good luck on getting the protectors. while you are at it do not forget the heat exchanger protector that you need.

You can get protectors on ebay and you will just need to rivet them on. The picks don't seem to hit the heat exchangers. They only hit on the very back when your bottomed out.

Are you talking about "generic" tunnel protectors on ebay? I see someone is making some just for the Phazer and selling them on ebay but they are $125 which seems a little steep.
I cant understand why Yamaha doesnt have these available yet.

I saw them for about $15. ,but they didn't say Phazer specifically. I heard form a guy on TY that he put some on from his Viper and they worked.

I used 96 Woody's Signature Series 1" down the center. Woody's template worked fine, just space it for the 14" track. Should have the generic Yamaha tunnel protectors from the Brown truck sometime tomorrow or the next day. Mr. Sled over on TY showed some pictures on his sled where the studs hit the dovetail on the rear of the tunnel.
