I'd be down to go if I don't have to work. What parking lot are you talking about on the willow side? I have only parked by the gate (although I have only been there twice at the end of last season).

I have only been riding since the end of last season, so although its quite a biased opinion its all I had to choose from, really. I am being forced into working saturday, but my friends and I are thinking of going on sunday. Sucks you had to sell the sled before you really got a chance to ride it. Thanks again for the sled!

maybe sirCATchalot will find it in his heart to take a poor soul, who doesn't have a sled, riding every once and awhile, and let me ride the widow :div20: hell I'd be happy in the M-Cat

You guys are lucky, no snow yet out here in Western Alaska, Bethel has been muddy if anything....
A few chunks of ice are starting to come down the river though...
I am praying for cold first though, this bog really needs to freeze before it snows, otherwise the snow insulates the thin ice and it gets kind of dangerous.
Looking forward to a new Yamaha Venture Lite this year, I hope it SNOWS!!!!(I have seen no snow here well in to January, BLARRRGHHHH!!!)
Later...
Cristian of the Freezing Tundra.
PS. Have loads of fun out there guys, and gals.

UNDER POWERED
Ok, now that the main downfall is out of the way I will tell you the rest.
Suspension- Silky smooth, one of the smoothest riding sleds if not the most for a 144 i have ever ridden. However, on jumps way too soft and bottoms to easily. Front end is way to soft and rolls way to easily, however i have taken the sway bar out and cranked the shocks all the way up but did not help.
Motor- very quick and smooth. Thick middle range and bottom range, no top end what so ever. Saw 72mph on a straight stretch and wasnt pinned so maybe a little faster but not much. Sounds good to, but sound doesnt always mean hp :frech32: 30 miles and 3 gallons of gas were burned but keep in mind i was at full throttle most of the time just to get the thing to go. I know they say dont break in a sled hard but hey, it has 5 year warantee until the turbo gets here so if poops it might as well be while i have warrantee so i will ride hard. :div20:
Feel- The sled is very agile and easy to throw in the pow but like mentioned above the shocks give way to easily and wants to roll out instead of hold a line while carving. Fox floats will cure this. Handlebars are nice but too low for me being 6'8" so i was a little out of balance by leaning over but not bad at all. Fly bars and riser will fix this to.
Potential- I think this sled can and will be a great sled when set up for how i ride. When the turbo is on and the shocks and handlebars are fixed to my liking i think it will be a kick a$$ sled but until the i will suffer with a under powered ill handling sled that could compete with most 500's.
Thats all i got!

Hyflyr,
So based on the way it is, it sounds like you are unhappy. Is it about what you expected, knowing when you bought it you would be adding goodies to get it to the way you want it. Thanks for the review.

How was the ride? Snow depth and conditions? Not a single flake down here at the end of the road yet. Just cold, thats good though lock everything up tight.

Hyflyr,
Sounds about right, it is only 80 hp stock. You are turning a 2" paddle and I believe you got used to the power your old sled had. Should not be a problem when you get it set up for you and a bit of boost!!!!!!! :div20:

Am i unhappy? To tell you the truth not really. If i were to have to ride it like this the whole year yes, i would be unhappy. The sled has potential, i just have to bring it out. It is what it was advertised for, a beginners mountain sled. If I was recommending a beginner to the mtn riding style and a first year sled i would recommend it but for someone that is used to 165 hp mod sleds i wouldnt at all.
Once the boost, bars, and shocks are on it im sure it will be a runner for sure, until then i will settle for the back of the pack. However once the boost is here look out :beerchug:
