Where do you hook up the temp gague on the t660 turbo?
I am think of buying a used t660 turbo touring and was wondering.
thanks
Dukie.
The vertical hose coming down from the RAD. cap , in the middle about 6 inch down from top mark the hose frist with a light color marker that you can see, cut take out about 1 inch or a littlr more so the T will fit, an install the T connection there, just installed a CAT gage in my BC with the T660 Sid
on the hood there should be a connector 2 wire near the gage on your dash you have now, in fact there are 2 of them use the one an auto motor plug flat rubber black you might have to look around for the correct to match you will also have to rout your cable down under the ENG right side up the front under the air intake box an up next to the main cable, [ near the air intake you might want to but a extra connector as if you want to take off the hood for any reason need to rip all that off ] use tye raps to hold your cable to the big wire bundle if you can't find a connector for the plug use trailer light connectors an splice them in use the 2 wires an don't worry about the extras if you worry about them coming apart put duct tape on them it will hold
PS befor you put the added connector make shure that your new temp gage works save you a lot of trouble time shooting if you are not up this maintance stuff will send you a copy of the CAT directions if you PM me
by the way the AC unit cost about $80.00 US an it is all laid out for you, it is plug an play, it is an anolog unit, about 2 inch across, the one that is being sold on this web site looks good but a little more money an it is digital still have to cut the hose an run the wires still think you have to put a plug where is just starts up the hood for later on

I'll go along with SID. I installed the Cat factory gauge kit on my 05 T660-T, no problem. Comes with detailed instructions, wiring harness that just plugs in, no splicing, and all the "plumbing" parts. I'd recommend it.
You will need a 2-inch hole saw to make the opening in the dash panel. (edit.)

thanks for the info guys. I dropped off my old sled at the dealers and now just have to come up with the difference. hope that is sooner than later. :div20:
as getting hot the only time you will know is when it blinks or on steady I had one put on so I would know what is going on, I ran into one problem when you hit the kill button it stopes every thing, lights inc [2007] but it did not turn off the temp gage an light to gage, have to use the key for that on my 2007 SID

Is the gauge specific for the 660 or are you guys using the one they've always offered for the two stroke sleds?

Do you guys have an AC part # for the correct gauge ( I have a 05 660 Turbo Trail) ? This sounds like a good add on, you`ll know before the light starts blinking that you need to find some fluff to cool things off, correct? Does the guage match the pod that is there now?
Thanks,
Craig

Monk,
here is info I posted on "Arctic Chat". I installed the factory kit no problem. It contains everything you need, except a 2" hole saw. I mounted mine to the right, and slightly above the speedo.
"The part number for the in-dash AC factory temp gauge is 3639-788 and the complete kit and instructions sells for $89.95.
It is necessary to make a 2inch diameter hole in the dash the kit has everything one needs, plug-in wire harness and the plumbing parts. thats worth something to not have to improvise."
Hope this helps.

one more thing this gage is reading the temp of the coolent that goes out of the eng to the heat exchangers it not in the eng. make sure that the unit is installed as directed the temp sender is pointing to the eng [electrical connection ] if it is not will you will break it off every time you mess with the Battery SID
