I notived at a local snowshow this past weekend that the IQ 600's that the dealer's had on display, the HO had the std gas tank (that is shown on Polaris' website) and the CFI 600's had the taller tank. Anybody know which one the Dragon will come with?
EDIT: Ok, I now see on Pol's website it lists 10.8 gal for 600HO and Dragon and the 11.7 gal for the CFI 600. Why was it put on just that one sled model?

The 600 Cleanfire and the 700 CFI Dragon have an electric fuel pump, inside the fuel tank. The tanks are different. The 600 Cleanfire has an access flange on the top surface of the tank, forward near the handlebar hoop, similar to the MY07 FS/FST fuel tank. On the other hand, the Dragon has the fuel connections on a flange in the front of the tank, facing towards the engine.
The 600 HO carb. has a vacuum operated pump outside the tank.

Seems that the dragon also being CFI would have the same tank as the 600 CFI motor. That is what I was curious about. But I just found out that the dragon will have the same tank that is on the RMK dragon.
I like the looks of the 11.7 tank that is on the 600 CFI though.

Well that sucks! Part of the reason I bought a Dragon was becaused I assumed they would use the same tank as the 600 cfi. I really missed having a 11.7 last year :banghead:

it says in the 07 polaris brochure that the cfi models come with the larger 11.7 gallon tank... i dont know if this includes the dragon or not?? I understand that all the prototype pics show the dragon with the 10.8 gallon tank but the polaris website shows the 600 cfi with the smaller 10.8 which is wrong. If they indeed come with different tanks, you should be able to swap tanks from a 600 cfi to a 700 dragon right?

Dont worry all 2007 sleds with cfi come with the lager tank as well as both digital and analog gages. The carb sleds only have the digital gages and the old small tank. The new larger tank looks sweet, it looks like a sportbike tank with the indents in it for your knees.

The Dragons you see at shows are basically last years sled with Dragon plastic on them - not representative of what will be built. On the other hand, the 600 HO and 600 CFI sleds are already in showrooms, so when you see them, its the real thing.

That's great news! I was expecting the smaller tank since that's what was on the site.

Most everyone is right on this one. The dragon's that you have seen in all the way up until now has been a last years plastic. They didn't have the new tank ready when they put the prototype dragon's together. All CFI sleds will get the bigger crotch rocket style gas tank.

The dragon RMK is calling at a 11.5 gal tank, just don't know if it's the "taller" tank or not. But at any rate, that's the tank that will be on the 121 dragon, not the 10.8 gal tank.
Yeah the taller tank in my opinion looks a lot better. I have a question out about that and should hear an answer soon. Will keep everybody posted.

Alright, here's the answer....
"No the tank is not the tall style tank like a 600CFI… it is more narrow and slender. "

So it is only 10.8 gal. then?

Where are you getting this information from? I was told all cfi and fst sleds are getting the larger tall tank. It would not be economical for poo to make a unique tank for the dragon.

Crimson, I was just told it's the same as the RMK, which shows 11.5 gal.
I got the info right from the marketing manager at Pol.

Sounds good, I could care less if it's narrow, slender, wide or fat as long as it's the 11.5 gal. I'm happy! :div20:
