I just purchased a new belt for spare and it seems to be wiggling out of the holder. It is a little oily, should I wash it? It doesn't seem like it will stay put and it doesn't seem like the area is big enough for it. Any suggestions?

Sad but true! Another bad design from our friends at PII. I ended up putting mine in the seat compartment. I felt the holder location would allow the belt to rub on pipe and would not allow the hood to close properly. :banghead:

does the the 600 have the same belt loc as the 9.? if it does u just have to know how the belt fits and there is no probs with rubbing or such on pipe.

my spare belt holder came mounted on the clutch cover, absolutley no problems with it there, held the belt fine. Are the 700's & 900's different? I see you have them by the pipe

Yep, basically do it the same way on a 900 as your pic.

It took me a few minutes to figure this out too.

If belt is clippen on it's side it will hit exhaust.

So, just do it like pic and you'll see how to place it with no issues.

O.k. I feel stupid now, I had it on the side, but it still is a tight fit. I might just stick in the back.
Thanks for the replies.

I had a problem of it popping out and I have it in like the picture, I put one of those Jesus clips through the holes in the belt holder, It keeps the belt from popping out. you could also use a ty-rap and cut it if you need the spare belt.

here's the setup on my '06 600. Works fine.

I put a power maid holder on top off my clutch cover and put the belt on the side. The oil bag wont work. It sets things alittle high. I'm going to make a oil holder and put it on the top of the power maid...hope it works but pretty sure it will.
