Last year it was October 24, 2005 We had the huge snow storm, tress were down everywhere and no power for 8 days. Hunting was very tough.

Remember look at the catapiller middle band. The larger it is the worst winter we will have?????

Remember the bigger the squirrels tail, the more snow were gonna get.....

Remeber Clusters of pine cones in the tops trees, brings us the winteries.......

We have tons of trailwork to get down and a bridge to replace behind Harwood Union so I am hoping for warm and dry temperatures during november.

Come December I am hoping it gets cold and stays below freezing so that all the waterbars and wet spots freeze up. Then if we get a big dump during the 2nd week of December I will be smiling.

I hope you're right...time will tell. But can anything be worse than last winter? It can only be better.

Isn't that true considering that I put on zero VT miles last season. I didn't bother purchasing a TMA
All we can do is hope and pray to the snowgods :fluffy:

Hate to bust your Bubble, BUT,.......

"They believe that if a wooly bear caterpillar's brown stripe is thick, the winter weather will be mild and if the brown stripes are narrow, the winter will be severe"

http://members.cox.net/tunias_travels/Wooly.htm

But my Educated guess is a normall or slightly snowier winter than normall.

dgree,

If you plan on hunting, better check the regulations book. Rifle season is from 11/11 to 11/26. Then there's a one week lag before the muzzleloader season (and second bow season) which goes from 12/2 to 12/10. Good luck to all the VT hunters out there!

I don't know much about catepillars, but it looks like the middle of next week there is an outside chance at something.
