This is my first attempt at a cam from my Cabin near Haneyville(Elevation about 1750 feet). It's up and running although there are no guarantees. Hopefully we'll have some snow to look at this winter.
Things to do yet:
Snow Guage
Light? Maybe, maybe not
Should take a pic every hour on the hour but who knows.
I just go this up and running so bear with me as i make some changes in the next couple weeks.
For now let's just call it a "beta" version!

Sweet, but it would be better if I didn't see the green. :tease:

I have a place in BF north of you. This will be a great asset to my ride and weekend planning. If there's anything that you might need or some cash donations for upgrades, just ask.

Hey thanks for the offer. Right now i think we are good to go. I have a thermometer on order for the top of the guage and i'm contemplating a dawn to dusk light but not sure if i want to go to that extreme. I'd like to have it lit up for a few hours in the evening but after 11PM til sunrise i'm sleeping. Of course if we get a storm in the middle of the night a cam pic would be useful around 4AM deciding on whether or not to call of work :div20:
So far the darn thing is working pretty good. I figured it would lock up or lose connection somehow but for now all is well.

I have a small wall mount dusk to dawn light that your welcome to if you decide to put one up. I'm going back up for bear season and I could drop it off for you. Or if you live close to me here in the flat lands I can get it to you also. I live in E-town outside of Hershey.

Hey Gizz
What part of the area is your cam located? I have a camp near the Mountain Top Bar and was wondering if it is close to that or further out.

Cam is located about 1 or 2 miles north of the bar very close to the trail. I don't like to give exact for security reasons but the weather at the bar is the same as at the cam as well as up towards Pat reeders. :div20: I'd say i'm somewhere in between the 2.
Thanks for the offer on the light. I'm working on something now so lets see how it works first. I might be able to use a timer and have the light come on every 2 hours for 5 minutes while the cam takes a pics. This would at least get a viewable pic every 2 hours at night.

Good deal. We have a cabin south of Coudersport, so this should be helpful for planning! Thanks gizz

Thanks for the encouragement everyone, i hope it lives up to expectations. Funny thing is i could stream this thing "almost live" say a pic every 15 seconds but the problem really comes down to the internet connection. I'm using dailup on remote phone lines. The best i can get is 21,600 which is less than 1/2 of what you might expect on a good line. If all goes well i might bump up the pics to every 1/2 hour once the winter gets going but how much do we really get in an hour?
Kinda of waiting for the first chance to park the sleds out by the cam at pic time! Just to rub it in a bit.

I added a dusk to dawn light over the weekend and a thermometer. The light works great but the thermometer is not very readable. I'm going to attempt to do a better job of focusing it this weekend but if that doesn't work i need to come up with a better solution. I'd really like to get a usable thermometer setup.

I don't know the area that great but it's very close to the natural gas pump station cause you can hear it from the cabin. There's a little store/gas within a 1/2 mile i believe, if not closer. Does this help?

We're pretty close to the Leidy Pump Station too, just off StewardHill Road.
