I want to stud my 99 mach z. It has a 1" camoplast track.
any recomendations on stud length. I want to go as long as safely possible.
I was thinking 1.25 any suggestions would be appreciated.

1.25" is the best length, any longer and the ride will get rough over hard ice, roads, dirt roads. You also risk more stud damage (bending, breaking) if the length is too long. Buy a tall backer though to help support the stud which aids in bent prevention ;-). I just finished installing 1.40" on my track. I used Fast Trac Air Lite XL. Its for studs 1.12" and longer.

The length you want will depend on who's studs you're going to use. I had the 0.92" track on my sled, and used 1" studs. They stuck up just over 1/4" ABOVE the track lugs. The shop I bought my studs from messed up and gave me 1.075" studs, and they were too long. I put a couple in just to make sure, and they were easily 1/2" taller than the track lugs.

If you get them too long, you'll have that much more chance for tear-outs and bent studs. Go with what the stud manufacturer recommends. I ran 192 Woody's in my sled (using their recommendations for length, number, and pattern), and didn't have any problems for the 5 years I had them in. I also used the steel backers.

the ck111 cannot run any bigger than 1.115 or you will take out your bulkhead. YOU MUST RUN THE BULK HEAD TUNNEL PROTECTOR WITH THAT SLED. The 1.25 wont turn around in the track. You guys need to think before you respond.

Your best bet is to buy a predater 0.75 camo track and install 1.075 with all the tunnel protectors. You will hook up great and won't have any problems. Runnung a longer stud than what the Manufactures call for is OK as long as you do not under stud. I would recomend MIN 192 with a 2/4 patern down the middle and every other on the outside. We ran 240 with every other on outside and 4 studs per bar in the centre. Sled hooked awesom and put 3000 miles trouble free on them.
