Went and put $ down on an LX 600 for the wife. Shes going from a 04 XC 500. I think shes going to love it, but shes worried that its going to steer like my DRAGON. I told her that Polaris has fixed the hard steering issue according to all the articles I've read and the reps I talked to at the snow show. I guess these LXs are going like hot cakes because theres not many available around this area. I checked four dealerships. Finally found one at Schopp Polaris just outside Rome. Hope it snows soon. I was ready to ride a month ago!!! :cn:

She should love it. It will steer much easier than your Fusion and sit much softer with the super soft seat and longer M-10 (128-inch) rear suspension. The only thing you will not like are the shocks. They are the cheap steel tube non-rebuildable Ryde FX units, except the rear skid gets one FOX shock.

Let it snow

Thinking about the LX for my wife, what did you have to give for it.

$8 grand out the door and I got the dealer to throw in a jacket.

Dealer told me around $8k, which probably means $8k on the nose. plus tax and would also imagine, forget a jacket. What dealer did you use?

Warning to all 07 Polaris LX Buyers.

I just picked up the 600 lx and it had the dual runner skis on them. I asked the Polaris factory rep at the Big East Show in NY - he said that they are using the 06 ski set up on the lx models (including the fst lx). This means that the 06 ski has last years heavy steering b/c of where the ski is mounted and the keel of the ski is deeper. In the mags they are saying the ski rubber under the spindle is softer as well. Reason - provided the best straightline handling for with the dual runners.

BS - i hate the dual runners and the heavy steering of the 06 models. If I just put on the single runners, the holes in the ski will make the snow shoot up thru there like a Yamaha jet ski. Believe me - I've seen it. Talked to the dealer he got us new 07 skis with the new mounting position at no cost (if there was a cost diff b/w the 06/07 ski he would have charged the diff) but they were the same cost.

Caution - make sure you ask the dealer for a set of 07 skis - he shouldnt charge you either.

I think this will be an awesome sled, but the heavy steering of last year needs to be fixed. Polaris even advertises the change on the LX model web page for specs/info.

Don't believe me - check the mounting position of the ski compared to the 600 iq. Contact your dealer immediately so you can swap them. I've been contacting other sites and magazines to get the word out. Let me know if you have any questions - I'll also make a special thread just for this.
