I heard on the radio this morning that there was enough snow in Paxson that a few
diehards were riding there, and that there was just enough snow in the Eureka
area to ride. Anyone know if this is true???

Also, how much snow is enough to ride the Eureka area? I've never ridden there
before but it looks like an awesome place to ride.

I don't know how much snow they have, but they need a 2ft base at least, plus something close to a foot on top to keep from beating up your sled too much. There are a good deal of bushes and other such tundra vegetation that get burried by the deeper snow, but make riding a pain if you don't wait for proper cover.

Yes every year there are a few die hards or dumb ass's that go up there if they get any remote amount of snow. Ever year the sleds get tore up. I agree with the above. They need to get a base first. Don't go just cause they got a few inches of snow. The terrain is pretty rough at both places. I like not hitting rocks and bushes along with not ridding in the mud. dunno.gif
