Fianally got a few inches of snow, Sled has speedwerx single, rad valves,d&d can,1.25 track 144 studs 24-39 driver weight 265, 125-300 primary,70.5 cat weights,59-53 progressive, red white 3rd. engages 3900-4000 goes right to 7400-7500 then climbs to 7700-7800 keeps pulling on top. should I be concerned that it didnt go right to 7700-7800 like speedwerx wants for the pipe. or would I be just right for peak torque climbing to peak h.p. I have 145-300 spring, green 2nd, and a set of heavy hitters would the heavy hitters pull harder than the cat weights? Seat of the pants sled felt good no bog no hesitation ,sled hooked pretty quick, snow only lasted a couple of hours so now its wait for more, should I leave it where its at? or what should I change? Thanks guys Jay.

The stiffer primary will bring your engagement rpm up about 5-700 if you don't mind it it makes for a nicer hole shot, the climbing up part is fine, torque is always on a lower rpm scale than hp so I say you're ok there.

Green sno pro spring in the secondary is slightly stiffer than the red one in it now resulting in quicker backshift.

Sounds like you're close, do you have anyone to compare your sled to so you know if you're improving or losing ground with your changes? It always helps to have a benchmark to look at.

Thanks MOD I was hoping you'd reply, we have no snow so as soon as it does I'll have another sled to compare it to. I think I'll try the stiffer primary spring, have you done any testing with heavy hitters ? Thanks again. Jay

Never used HH's before, but I would like to try them out once. Seem like a great system. as far as pulling harder than cat weights, I haven't seen the profiles side by side so I can't tell you....but another thing that changes rpm and pull is how the weight is distributed on the weight itself.

Especially using HH's I would think that you could keep the weight the same but change mid/heel weight (hole 1 & 2) and change how your rpm's react. Like I said before you sound like your very close I do think you should try the other spring, like I said higher engagement with no change in top end rpm's.

I scrapped my Heelclicker set up, wayyyy to inconsistent. But I can't bring myself to spend $200 on another system similar to that....maybe I'll run across a used set someday so I can give 'em a run.

Have fun....MOD

Mod, I've got a set of HH's that have been shaved and balanced in the heel for engagement, about 5000rpm, they pull big on top. Will sell whole kit for $100.00

Catmaster, any tips on where to start with the heavy hitters or another helix spring combination that I could start from ? my base weight on the HH are 65.5 grams. thanks, Jay
