I have an early release 2002 ZR 500. It was built in Jan 02 and is essentially the same as the 2002 ZR 500 CC.

I want to remove the carbs to clean and add V-Force reeds.

Since the carbs on "linked" together via the throttle assembly, what's the best way to remove them? My thinking was I would remove the fuel line and choke for each carb. Then remove the throttle cable where it comes into the to of the assembly. Once unplugging the one electrical connection I should be able to slide the boots back and pull the carb assembly up and out.

Does this sound reasonable, or should I be doing something different?

Remove the airbox and pull the carbs back toward the jackshaft.
