check it: www.vtb2bn24.org

300+ miles on those sleds? anyone know a good chiropractor?

theres pictures on the site too. Anyone recognize themselves for the last ride on there?

Thanks Z-Iggy,

You think those sleds will make it???? I hope they do, but don't think they will.....a tow rope is definitly in order

I emailed them a nice letter to thank them and to sign me up. I'm glad there starting the ride back up. I always wanted to do the ride and now have a the chance.

I know I'll have at least 2 sleds there, but could be as many as 8????

The question is not only "will those sleds make it?", but "will its riders make it?"

I give those guys credit for attempting that ride. The must have steel ones.

Youre in? freakin awesome! what are you riding? a newer sled I hope. up to 8 guys?

I'd like to give it a shot, but lining up a chaser is the tough part.

Ya, I'm figuring that out now. I was thinken maybe getten dropped off and then let them go sleep for a while wake up and drive to the chez and if someone's broke down on the way up pick'em up on the way or come back.

Seems pretty boring for the chase vehicle.

If they make it I was going to offer a massage......but said screw that.....let someone else do that....

We all have new, newer and reliable sleds, all types of makes....

For the way I ride 330 miles should equal over just over 15 hours with stops. The longest ride I ever did was from Waterville Valley,Campton, NH to Killington Mt. VT. Freaken -20 below when we started, That was a ride from hell....

I have no idia with there web page, the thing worked real slow....for me anyway. I did get a response back from Tom, this is his quote

"Our collection kits will be going out immediately after Christmas. In the meantime we ask all interested to get a complete head count, with name, phone numbers and addresses, of all those riding in their party so we may mail out enough kits. Once you get a final number of riders please email us back and we will send them out."

a massage? they will need a consult with orthopedic surgeon!

How long was that ride from NH to Killington? 20 below for that ride is brutal.

the website works fine if you have cable, satellite or dsl, takes a few seconds for pix to load. On the otherhand, I have cuople of friends that tried it with dial up and it is painful!

this ride should be great, I've got 4 riders in my group looking foward to it. we rented a cabin on Wallace Pond and are gonna ride back to Cavindish on Sunday or Monday, no chase car unless we need it!!! :beerchug:
Jay
Is there a plan to ride as a group from HCS?
DJSF7
Myself and a couple of riding buddies are considering doing this without a chase vehicle but will need to find a room for the night up in the Norton area. It could be tough since most places require a min. 2 night stay and we'd only need it for Saturday night.

If we could find a place up there, we'd probably ride about 1/2 way back on Sunday and get another place for Sunday night, then finish the ride back to the trucks on Monday.
RETRO7
My brother inlaw and I are planning on doing the ride but leaving ahead of the group,as not to get jammed up in traffic, make the ride to Norton then on to maidstone for night and ride back to concord nh on sunday...... mother nature willing Any one in?
sxviper 1+2=3 cylinders
retro: there is no jamming up. i've done the ride twice. you go in groups (spaced apart, to prevent the jamming), and if you're with the early mornin' crowd, everyone runs up the trails at a real good clip.

regarding a chase vehicle: the first time the ride was offered, i was using the same sled i have now. the stock viper was 2 years old at that point, and in west burke i siezed a crank bearing. i limped to a nearby gas station, and waited 3 hours for my dad to come from camp to get me.

i would not say you need a chase vehicle, but i would not say you don't. a new sled can give you unexpected fits.

Talk to Karie @ Pure Country, that's where we are going to stay and we were told we can reserve Fri & Sat and she would try to rent out friday night if she knew we were not going to be there to try and save you some $. Were staying through to sunday and going head back on Monday so I'm not looking for the one night discount.

Should be good time @ the Chez and the Cabin :burp:

Thats a good point. If you atleast have someone within VT, then just call if you need help. No need to have someone driving around for no reason. Maybe I will do it this year
Z-Iggy
The ride is jam-free (unless you are slower the the bulk of riders, in which case it is common courtesy to allow other sleds to pass). From the site:

Q: How does the ride start?

A: Riders must sign-in with event staff at the starting area. At that time riders hand-in their pledges. The Ride will begin with groups of 10 or so riders leaving the starting line every 3 minutes to safely space groups.

Hey Z
did the ride last time and had a total blast!
Looking forward to doing it again, can't wait.
missed the ride last year, I know it is a lot of work and I hope everyone that does the ride truly appreciates the hard work ad dedication required to pull it off. :div20:

also want to wish everyone a safe ride. save the :beerchug: for the end and brew the :cn: for the next day.

Ya call Tom or Marion with information on all riders. Then just after Christmas the packages will be mailed out.

They are keeping track of HCS members, which is a nice thing.

Brad,
I'M still in on the arm bands, just with hunting season and being busy I haven't pushed it. Plus I've PM
