I found this in the general forum. I havnt got the chance to read through it yet, I thought I would get it out there to you all first.

motorsports ban

I read through it...it's pretty fuk'd. Just to hold a race, you would have to send our fliers to everyone in the area, get a registered land surveyor to survey and certify your plot to submit to the MATSU Borough for approval to hold a race, and so on. It basically makes a ton of hoops to jump through to hold a race. And all it takes is one dickhead in the area you are proposing to complain and you might as well find somewhere else. For the smaller races the expense of putting the permitting process together would probably make it unfeasible to hold the race in the first place. Not good stuff at all. :frech32:

they tried to do that here in fairbanks but it got shut down , some of the local motor sport shops jumped in on the band wagon and we had one of the biggest turn outs ever , the damn California tundra huggers trying to push there opinions on every one

my dad has been telling me about this since i was about 16. its taken the tree huggers a while to get it moving. its the first step in banning any and all things to do with ATVs and snowmobiles. i cant believe it, its soooo much bullshit. dumb fuckin wackos move up here and expect it to be perfectly serine....like some photo out of denali park, then they get here and see that thats not what its like then try and change it to fit their picture.

some old fart just about ran me off the trail on seldon while i was on my wheeler this summer, he was pissed becasue i was making dust...then went on a 10 min. rant while he had me blocked in about how hes wasted $500,000 moving up here just to have to deal with "punk fagots" like me "terrorizing" such a beutiful place......i could have shot him right there.

Thats when you politely run his ass over. :div20: In all honestly sounds like that old bastard needs to pull his head out of his ass and go back to where he came from....... Im really starting to hate outsiders.

The pay for parking thing is suppose to help improve the parking areas/facilities and elminate some of the long term parking.

i would assume that they would have to pay an anual fee and get a tag to hang in the window for long term parking......but thats kinda fucked up to start charging them all of a sudden.....they should be grandfathered in and not have to pay

I am betting on future lawsuits before all is said and done. But if a fee is implemented then all would be expected to pay. This area use to be the turnaround for the snowplows and people who had places out there used it to park. It now has expanded to this large parking area with needs for facilities, health and safety issue. Some of the health/safety concerns have been brought on by the residents who live out there. I know if this happens I will see more folks out in my prestine riding area.

Those who have been riding out there forever know what I am saying. I have only been riding in the State of Alaska for the last 10 years and the changes I have seen are huge. I do remember riding Petersville when the main trail out wasn't groomed and the moguals weren't 4 feet high.

yeaaaaahhh buddy... i remember the moguals so high that your front bumper would dig into the one ahead of you and getting stuck in the parking lot with my dad becasue the lot wasnt plowed but maybe once a week. oh yeah, and there was only about 1/5 of the people that go there now,,,,,,ohh those were the days...
