What are the best skis to run on a Pro X. It will be mostly aggressive trail riding. Some powder, but not a lot. So what are the best all around skis out there? Your thoughts please!

speaking of which, pro x with 144" tipped rails, 114 studs in a switchback track and powder pros. i prefer lighter steering effort. what do you guys think for the mounting holes and carbides?

I'm completely satisfied with my C&As. Some say they don't float well in powder dunno.gif , I've had no problems off trail with them. Maybe the guys complaining have the sport version that 4" shorter and an 1" narrower.
Sled Solutions
Had SLP SLT ski's with 6" Carbides my 03 Pro X 600 and 96 Studs and I wouldn't have traded those ski's for anything.

I use C & A ulltra pro's the old race version and i love them on both my ProX600 and rev440.
xc-mark
Powder pros are hard to beat in all conditions. I have 3 seasons on mine, I found then to be much better then the C&A pros I have on my xc.
ogrant
i prefer the powder pros over the USI project X skis on mine...Usi 's were harder to turn than the powder pros.
Matt
PowderPros for everything but crusty top snow like you encounter on lakes after some rain. They're downright scary in that condition.
Marvs660
I'm running Simmons on my X2 and they perform pretty good and am satisfied with them for all around conditions.
Gen2
I have one spare set of brand new SLP SLT's if you want to try those .

i'm trying the usi X2 tirple threats this year if i don't sell out, which its lookin like i won't... i'll post up a review once i get some miles on em

I have the SLP SLT's on an IQ 900, XC 800, PROXR 800 and a Switchback. All with awesome results over the past three years on groomed trails to loose chop and some powder. I have a set of Powder Pros that came on my IQ racer that I'm going to try this season. The Powder Pros are close to the same design just much more aggressive with a deeper engagement.

The Polaris race skis work very well on a pro-X, X2, XR. Might be cheaper then going the SLP route. If your going to do alot of off trail riding then stick to the powder pro's.
proxJ
i just bought some c&a adx skis today should be good!

Bonz,

How do the Powder Pro's compare to the Slydogs Powderhounds?? Which one would you rate higher overall in trail and off-trail riding? Off-trail is more important for me though.
bonz50
off trail in the fluff is no comparison, the hounds float better than any ski i've ever used... but i think it needs to be deep fluff where you can carve the sled around for them to really shine... on the trail they force you into to many suspension compromises to get them to steer well imho... if i lived in the mt's i'd have slydogs, no question, but here in the midwest i found them to be too much of a single purpose ski, which is why i sold them... gonna try the usi triple threats this season and see where it takes me... if the usi's don't work for me i'll go back to powder pros... it's a proven excellent combo on the pro-x 136, especially with the shaper bars....

Thanks for the info. I'll go with Powder Pro's.
