According to the Doo race manuals, you should lose about 10 mph of top speed. The theoretical top speed of the 25/44 gear ratio is 116.1 mph, and for the 23/44 it is 106.9 mph. I would guess you'll be around 100 mph top speed if you were at about 105-110 before.

You should also run a 2 link shorter chain. Stock should be a 74 link chain, and the race manual says to use a 72 link chain. I have no idea if the adjuster can compensate for it (I would think that it would, but you'll be bending the chain more, so you'll lose some power there..)

You may also have to add some weight to your pins to keep your top speed rpm's down. (mine seems OK, I just dropped 1 tooth on my top sprocket, and went down 1position on my TRA clickers, but didn't have the chance to get going really fast yet).

I was running a 26 top and 40 bottom, man did i ever have top end but out of the hole you almost had to push it to get it going but it would top out a 125 mph, now i am at 26 top and 42 bottom and it works real well I had a 44 bottom but was not fast enough for where I ride. I stayed with a stock chain till I found gearing that worked then I purchased a new chain. I run the TRU-PITCH set from FAST gears and chain. The clickers on the TRA change 250 RPM's for every number you go up or down. m2c.gif
