Catmaster,
we just got done putting the slp single pipe, v-force reeds, slp high flow external air intake. We are probably at about 1500ft. elevation. I installed 470/480 staggered jetting. It was about thirty degrees yesterday in low/sticky snow conditions. I was getting about 1175 degrees midrange and about 1200 degrees on the top, with only ten degrees difference between cylinders. Im looking for a little hotter temps, but it was a pretty warm day so not concerned there. On the stalker pro radar it would only pull 105mph at 7700 rpm full shift out with a new belt. The owner actually thought that it was slower than stock. I'm not surprised there though. Im still running stock clutching and that is where i am needing help.
I NEED HELP TRYING TO FIND MY CLUTCH SETUP. This will be a ditch banger, so backshift is important, but i need more pull from this thing. We have setup a single piped 2001 zr 800 d&ds cluth kit, that is pulling 82 grams. I dont remember the rest of the setup right now, but i was very impressed with that kit in particular.
I really need some recommendations here.
Joe

Hey, sorry I havent checked in for awhile here. I've seen some D&d kits that work well, but most of the time I've seen room for improvement. But that because aftermarket clutch kits arent rider style specific. The thing I see with waht your telling me you want is a cross breed of a ditch banger and a WOT lake runner. If you want seat of your pants low end pull You might try a snow cross type set up. For WOT speed runs your going to need a more taylored Helix angle. I have a set up that I'm waiting to test on top end, but don't have enought ice on the lake yet. It's a monster out of the hole. The set up you have with the SLP pipe and the reeds and air box mods has tons of potential. I spend A LOT of time testing my clutch set ups and I wont give them out on the forum. I can give you a set up to start with if you want to give me a call. 518-774-5620

That jetting sounds a little rich, I havent looked a the jetting charts from slp for that set up. Did you say you were running dial a jets or some thing like that?

I have a Black magic kit minus the weights, wich were 78 grams any way, you'll probably need 72.5 - 73 grams. Its a pretty nice kit, and can be easily manipulated to run better hole shot or top end by the weight profile you choose. I'm selling the kit, primary spring, secondary spring and helix, buy your own weights, $100.00 if you want it.

Last year, with a single speedwerx pipe, boyseen reeds, gutted air box, and clutching it hit 115.3mph on a stalker radar gun. It might have had a hair more, but I was running out of room.
I just dialed my clutch in on a dyno and ended up with a 62/54 helix, 80 gram weights, and speedwerx springs.
With the mods done to it this year, I am hoping to hit 120+. This thing is already a monster out of the hole, so I am not to worried about gaining anymore holeshot.

CATMASTER, what do you recommend for my 99 zr 700.
I was looking at the black magic setup notes,
60/53 rage helix,
black/orange pri
black/pink sec
53 gram weights
I like a lot of low end but I like to have nice top end too....I plan on going with a 23/40 gear combo as well.....thanks..
