I purchased a used PERC kit from someone that was parting out an 03 ProX 700 that they had added PERC to. I would like to get a hold of a copy of the instructions so that I could make sense of this box-o-wires. If anyone has the instructions or knows where to get them, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your time.

the PERC kit replaces the stock engine wiring harness, CDI unit, tachometer and installation of activation button. the tach only needs to be replaced if you want to have the REV light illuminate when in reverse, the stock tach does not have a bulb or provision for one. you will need to remove the seat and gas tank to access the pig tail that runs back for the tail lights. the tank pins the pig tail to the tunnel. other than that, it's pretty much a plug and play system that is self explanatory. i have the instructions from my '03 800 kit, but i don't get home for another 10 days. if you still want them and have had no other luck with other sources, PM me and i can scan and email them to you. you probably already know but thought it was worth mentioning, don't forget about the helix. it needs to have the knotches to lock it in low gear. without the ER style helix, when in revrse it will suck the belt to the bottom driven clutch hella fast.

Ahhhh....Thanks Bonz.....the box-o-wires suddenly became clear as day as soon as I picked up my beer. What was I thinking doing the job without it :beerchug:

I haven't really looked into the job, but from the replies, it sounds like it should be pretty easy. Thanks.

On the 600s you need to replace the oil pump, if I recall this isn't required on the big blocks. Can anyone verify that?

depends on the year. the '03's have the new pump that works in reverse rotaion. the '02's don't. you don't really need the new pump. the motor is not in reverse for very long, so oiling is not really an issue unless you like cruising for miles in reverse.

iirc, even the older big blocks need the pump replaced... my 03 didn't...

Can a PERC Kit be added to a 2002 XC800?

they used to make a kit to add it on... but even if they don't make the kit you can piece it together yourself... oil pump, stator, brain box, wiring harness, etc from any 800 that had will retrofit to any other 800, including the non-ves 800 i believe...

Could you tell me what is needed to make a kit up for an 01' Pro-X 600.

Thanks Digger.
