MY Slp pipe has cracked for the second time. I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem? Or is something causing this? I don't ride hard with this sled. Slp was great replaced the first pipe after 300miles now have 900 more. I hate to ask for another pipe but I'll ask anyway, hopefully they will come through again. In the pic's you can see exaust oil leaking out.

I'm on my 3rd one. They all cracked in the same place & at the identical place as yours. Do you use the SLP hood screens? Is it too much cold air on the pipe? I'm not sure, but it always seems that I find it after several back to back runs. I know last year the PTO motor mount was trashed, maybe it was headed out the year before. Would wrapping the pipe at that location help? How about another clamp to change the vibration frequency?

Hopefully , Pockets or xcmark will come to the rescue.................by the looks of the unspent fuel pooring out of the crack, you have been useing they're jetting recomondations. ???............that crack has nothing to do with vibrations. But, what do I know? ........Call SLP and talk to Ron, you will get a new pipe asap. - John

Damn, I just bought my sled with a single SLP on it. I hope my doesnt crack like that. It looks like it may have something to do with cold air on a hot pipe. Maybe exhast wrap would help

I use thermo tech header wrap on mine. After I wrap it I heat up the pipe to dry the wrap then I paint it with black barbeque paint .Looks awesome ,and 4500 miles no cracks. Also after a one mile full throttle blast you can hold the pipe in your bare hands...Holding heat in the pipe is always a good thing for horsepower!!!

My bud has a 04 800 and I think he's on # 3,the sad thing is Hotseat treated him like shit,He's had nothing but trouble with there products, then they give him a hard time when it comes to covering the shit. You spend hard earned cash and they take it but when it comes to fixing THERE problem you get the run around,it's to bad. :frech32:

Wheres the hose clamp with the 1'' wide piece of header wrap, thats suppose to go around the pipe to dampen the harmonics of the pipe, and eliminate cracking?
I know its ugly but you need it.

this is hearsay so if im wrong dont hold it against me....
i heard that this was an isolated problem with SLP single pipes that are being used with the stock Y-pipe and the stock silencer? dont know how much truth there is to that but im useing the whole SLP setup and no cracks yet...prolly 3000 miles on it. i know they make 2 differet pipes that have slightly different bends....
