Guys:
FYI - Canadian Tire has Shell Advance Ultra full synthetic oil on sale this week for $26.99 - regular cost is $38.99.
I have used this oil for 6 years in my VES sled with great results.
They may be out of stock at your local store but you can get a raincheck for the sale price!

I just picked up four jugs today...For that price, and it has great reviews. Plus, Cat APV oil is close to $40.00 now.... But I do have a question for the people that have used the Shell oil....I just took out my power valves after 3000 miles and only using Cat APV oil and they were hardly carbon deposited. What about the condition of the power valves after using the Shell oil?

I have been using Shell Ultra for a few years now. I dont clean my own valves but the dealer that cleaned my Fusion last year said they were not bad at all (5000 km).
Only negative I've heard is from a buddy of mine who camed a guy on a trip with him had the oil clump after a really cold night. I've never had a problem.
Thanks for the notice Red Rocket. I rain checked 4 jugs today. Went to 2 store, none on the shelf.

Used it in my ZR500 (non-valved) never had a problem....i would probably still be using it in my F6 if it wasnt for the nice smelling Ipone i have been burning this year....

Either way you cant go wrong....the price sure is a winner!

I started buying this oil at the TO Sled show - back when Shell used to have a booth there. Like I said - we have never had a problem with it.
I believe I have the tech specs of the oil saved on my computer. I will see if I can find it.

I used to use it and switched to the interceptor by amsoil when it came out as its $40 a jug too. I like the smell a lot better and it seems to flow nicely even at cold temps.
that said there is nothing wrong with the shell stuff. I used it for years without problems.... the same can be said for most mainstream oils I would imagine.
I believe shell makes a lot of the oil on the market anyways. It meets all the standards and then some.
I just picked up a jug of amsoil at the show, wish I knew earlier as I could have almost bought 2 jugs of shell for the price of 1 interceptor.
hopefully the sale goes on for a while...

I have used it before. Only complaint was that one of the guys riding behind me said it burned his eyes and made them water.

yep it smells like shit and burns the hell out of your eyes. that's why I switched to amsoil as a jug of interceptor is only $1 more and it smells a lot better.
But for over $10 a gallon in savings I'd take burning eyes. Its not bad oil! :div20:

I run it in my F7 and I have no problems. I also have other friends who have made the switch due to the fact it is much easier to find and the price is much better.
You guys think canadian tire is cheap. How about a case for 70 bucks. Got to love connections. Happy sleddin.
