Ok....so the next item in my slew of tech questions.....what about Reed Spacers??? Is there an actual benifit to them, or is it just snake oil?? any of you guys have experience with them?

I would not on the 700. Screws up the air box fit for minimal gains if any. Money spent better like on a tempa flow or clutching/gearing/jetting/traction/motor mounts.

right on! good to know! So would that be on all brands of motors, or just the poo's?

motor mounts? hum....i haven't seen anything about those! what am i missing? grinning-smiley-023.gif

I believe that the spacers work well on the 800 Doo's due to a limited amount of intake from the factory. I might be wrong on this, but don't think so. What I meant by motor mounts should have been more clear- I mean the motor torque mounts (front pto side and mag side front) from SLP and the harder durometer rubber mount themselves from either like SLP HSP or Wahl Bros. I like the mounts on mine as they tend to keep the motor in line with the secondary. having too much flex equals a loss of consistent power to the clutches=(heat). The mounts keep your motor aligned more consistently leading to less friction(heat). This is translated into longer belt life and drivetrain life (maybe?). I have used aftermarket torque arm/mounts since 1991 back when Bender marketed them for Yamaha Phazers and Exciters (I & II). I swear by them.
