Well the Top Gunn is only 1 1/2 weeks away.

Sunday October 29, 2006 in Tilbury Ontario.

There has been some unbelievable times put down on the grass in the past few weeks and I expect that alot of records will fall again this year.

Last years shootout saw records fall in every single class.

New class last year "King of the Trail" will be run again this year for those of you who think you have the worlds fastest trail sled. Nitrous and turbo sleds welcome and big bores. Must have trail pipes no race pipes.

Classes are as follows, plus I'll add my prediction for winner.
Open Mod 1000------------------ Brent Hoag
Pro Stock 1000------------------ Flavio Iantomasi or Wayne Legge ????????????????????????
Improved Stock 1000----------- Craig Marchbank
Pro Stock 800------------------- Flavio Iantomasi
Improved Stock 800------------ Allan Gavin or whoever else may be driving the 668 sled
Stock Open---------------------- Glenn Hall shit I'm bettin' against myself here.
King of the Trail----------------- Rob Shooping - gotta back a repeated winner in this class, though there are some other sick fast trail sleds out there but he keeps winning.

The track is real easy to find being only about 2 km off the 401 down near Chatham. The poster is on www.Cosdra.com with info and directions.

I'll be there both days, it's close to home.

I'll take Marchbank in Imp 1000 / 800 and Pro 1000 if he cuts some good lights and does not stage to get a better ET. Hell I may even take him in Pro 800 as well, he'll be pulling out the stops

Marchbank always seems to shallow stage to get the e.t.'s. I think world records are more important than 1st place to him, then again he gets more than his share of both.

He has some serious competition though. Things change so much every year it's gotta be hard for anyone to stay on top.

We may take the sled home after Saturdays race and just spectate Sunday if I can't get it more consistent. Last time out I ran a new personal best then slowed down big time. dunno.gif

Yeah it does seem that way some times with a lot of the guys at this race staging for ET and Records rather than wins but I agree he is in for some competition and it all depends on who adapts to the track and weather that day. I could see him and others doing some testing on Saturday in the heats and just getting by to Sunday trying different things for the Shoot out.

I wish I could offer some help to ya on the sled but I am a Doo guy not much work on Cats. I know when my sled started to act up like that it was due to me gettting the Box Reprogrammed and it became very finicky to fuel and proper pipe warm up.

I'm thinking it's retaining heat in the crank. Gonna try leaving the cool cart on it for the entire time I'm back in the pits between heats.

I know what you mean about the pipe heat. Like most I pretty well have a warm-up ritual I repeat the same every time. We'll see what next weekend brings.

Gerry won't run the shootout since Yamaha took away the SRX. Can't blame him really. Actually Gerry Jr. has been doing the driving lately.

Now if someone needed a driver for their pro-stocker etc. he is one of the very best available. ( Sr. that is ) :div20:

A 600 HO of a buddies was losing 10 hp on the dyno between pulls from to Hot a Pipe, take the pipe off cool it right down put back on and back to 122 hp, had to build a fan to cool the pipe between heats along with the cool down unit.

Hell if it was a Skidoo I'd say it was an electrical issue from heat, wires then touching cause stator issues cool sled right down wires shrink good to go. Are there any wire harnesses running under the motor that may be getting hot!!???

I'm sure you'll get it figured out for the shoot out

Tilbury is a couple hours drive for you. It is down the 401 west . www.mapquest.com says 2hrs 40 min. from Hamilton to Tilbury. This would be at speed limit so you could shave a half hr. or better off of that.

403 west to 401 west to Tilbury exit. Fairly easy! What else to do on a Sunday before the snow flies. dunno.gif

Weather looks good for Sunday so far! :div20:
