now i am looking at a 98 MXZ because this guy wants to trade me now. He said its not mint, and before it can be ridden it needs 2 idler wheels. I was wondering the MM for the wheels so i can purchase some if needed. It also needs a seatcover, and some tlc. He is asking 1400 but i was going to trade him my dirtbike. I have pics to see what you guys think. The speedometer was changed to the old style so i have no way of figuring out the miles. Just wondering you guy's opinions on this sled,

138 mm wheels. That machine looks like it's been ridden hard and put away wet. It looks to be a 583. I (IMO) think that $1400.00 is too much to pay. I personally would offer $800.00 for it.

i took the middle set of idlers off my sled, they are extra parts, i use the wheels as i break the others, thats what i would doo if i was you

The wheels are about $30 each from the dealer. I also see it is missing the plastic foot stops at the back of the rails, those are $14 each and easy to install. You will probably have to take that seat off and dry out the foam if its wet and have an upholstery place sew the rips up in the seat cover. That would be around $25.

What makes me wonder about this sled is that it has no graphics on it, that may mean that it was flipped and thats a new hood. It also has Wiseco stickers on it, which may mean it has new pistons in it. That may be good for the engine, but since you said he has a old speedo on there, this sled may have a LOT of miles on it. I guess one way to tell is to ask him if he ever changed the track. If the track is worn but not bad, it might not have a whole lot of miles on it. I can give you a picture of what the stock track should look like and the markings that will be printed on it if you want.

I would offer him more like $1000-$1200
