If I change my gearing for more top end speed will I also need to change my clutching?

I have a 02' ProX600 with 6000 miles. I love the sled, it has always ran real strong against anything and corners great. I noticed this year there is some wear on my top sprocket, if I buy new chain/gears I'm thinking of going for a little more top end speed since I do a lot of lake and river riding. The sled is bone stock, has always been reliable and consistent, is plenty fast to keep me in the front of everybody...until the long straights where the larger sleds pass me by. So, if I regear do I need to change the clutching?
