I have an 01 XCSP 800. It has 6000 miles on it 3000 on wiseco top end. I heard you should replace pistons every 3000 on these motors. I pulled a head off they look perfect. Does that only apply with cast pistons? I let it warm up religously and maint. and clean it anally if the matters.

Do a leak down check on the cylinders at TDC. If withing 10% leakage, it's good. Compression should be around 130 or so.

I have a nice hardly used set of twin PSI pipes for that sled if interested. 21 hp claimed gain.

Thank's for the info. I have a set of twin slp pipes on the under my bench from a guy that went to a single. Worried about reliability with them though.

the 2001 800 motor with a stock head has more like 140 psi . you do want both holes to be very close on peek pressure. WOT AND 4~5 pull with both plugs out cold.
