Hey guys, i have a 00 xc 500, not the VES model though. Now my question is, i have no spark, i have no power going to the coil on the air box, i unplugged the white plug near the pull cord by the engine to render the shutoff and all that useless. Still nothing, so its just not getting any spark to the coil, and the wires gonig down to the engine are long and hard to access, im not sure if it could be a broken wire? or the stater (spelling), i just wanna have a general idea before i go replacing stuff.. I know it may be hard to get any data from what ive said but any ideas would be swell.

First, check for "obvious" things like corrosion in plug connections and similar. This is especially true if the sled ran when you parked it, but won't now. Second, you mentioned disconnecting a plug at the motor - which plug did you disconnect? Last, how are you checking for spark - grounding a plug on the head and pulling the motor over? If so, try it with a set of fresh spark plugs if you aren't already.

well the funny part about it all, the sled ran fine yesterday, i ran it a couple times through out the day. Came out today just to see, and nothing, there is no power going into the coil or cpu what ever on the airbox, i checked, once it had power, the sled started up, now it has none, and wont start up. The plug was a white one where all the stuff like your H&T warmers go into the engine or what ever, down where the pull cord is rapped up. (i used a test light to check).. Thanks...

Yes, so i figured my problem out, it wasnt the stator plate at all, it was a fried CDI box, plugged in one off a wrecked 500 and it fired right up. :beerchug:
