I was just thinking of plates and theft insurance this year. plates are $140 or so for 6 months on my sled and theft i believe is like $250 or so. Collision is like $400 for me so im debating whether to scrap it this year. My sled is a 2006 gade 600 sdi. What do you guys get for sask insurance and what kind and how much? whats the vbest plan to get. Collision is nice to have i have to admit but.......Wallet isnt always that thick.

I'd say that if you have a new, or almost new, sled then the collision coverage would be worthwhile, just don't go with too low of a deductable. On an older sled the collision coverage is questionable and especially if you do your own work on the sled. I don't carry collision coverage on my old sled because a cracked bumper would probably be a total loss. :lol2: Ask yourslef if you can accept the risk of $5k damage to the sled. Insurance is something you buy and hope you never have to use.

It`s better to be safe than sorry!!! Your sled is still brand new and it dont take much for
damage on sleds to add up. Just make sure you get in as much ride time as you can to get your
$$$ worth. I hate to say it but give it a couple of years and we will be paying as much as
Harley owners for plates. This is becoming a rich mans sport sad to say.
