I have read in here somewhere but now cannot find it. I read about stainless steel exhaust valves. I have an 03 800 xcsp that has valves that I an trying to now clean every weekend!!! I was going to buy new OE valves but thought the stainless might be better. Any comments??

The only valves Poo makes now are the Stainless. If you order the original ones they will superseed to SS.
Get the Aluminum ones out of there before they break, warp or bet get sucked in!! tic, tic, tic, tic, tic, tic. BOOOOM

This may sound stupid ... but how do you tell if they are aluminum or stainless? I just cleaned mine and am now wondering which ones I have.

The aluminum valves are flat on each side. The SS valves will have two hollowed out areas on one side and flat on the other.

Is this only an issue with the 800s or were the 700s and 600s affected also?
I just recently bought an '03 600 and if this is going to be a problem, I'd sure hate to find out about it 20 miles down the trail and out in the middle of the Minnesota northwoods.

I still have the original valves in my '02 700 and they are in super shape, no problems to report. My '05 600 valves have not presented any trouble either. I hear that the 800's have less of a coolant flow around the valve area that contributes to the valve problems.
