I am looking to get a rebuild on my 99 T-Cat.
Does anyone know of a great person/Company in the Shelburne/Orangeville area you would recomend?
I have about 8500 miles on the engine and it probably could use a refresh. The comp. test shows it to be down to abut 115-120.
If you are recomending yourself, what is your ballpark quote.
Thanks

you could go to warp 9 but it would be expensive.
you could do it yourself, its not a hard thing to do.
id even be willing to do it and give the carbs a good cleaning for a little more then the piston kit costs.

I haven’t had a Cat for a while but it use to be Arnies Cat House that did good work.
Now that I think about it, are they even a dealer anymore?

No he isn't anymore, but I'm pretty sure he remembers how to fix and mod the stuff.

Just buy the service manual for your sled. Its super easy and can be done in a day. Id buy 3 SPI piston kits and a full gasket kit. Disasemble the motor, check all bearings on crank and inspect counter balance(send out if bad) and rebuild the water pump. Would save yourself a ton of money that you could use on making it even faster

You have a good Cat dealer at your doorstep with Warp 9. Why not just take it there?

What is he doing these days? I drive by there all the time. He still has some sleds kicking around out front. I heard he lost the dealership a while back.

If youre just talking about freshening up the engine with a new top end, I vote for do it yourself. Last year I put piston kits in my 1990 indy and new head/base gasket. Foolish me didn't clean the mikunis before the season, and moisture in the bowls ran it lean on the pto side. I guess i am so used to the old tillotsons. But it took 3 hours tops to do everything, including a carb cleaning, and it was $59 each for the piston kits and around $45 for the gasket set. So for under $200 i did it myself and it runs excellent. ran better than all the 2005's i rode with this winter and its a 1990!

Arnie is into turbo diesel motors.
He is running sled asphalt drags and still can build a 3 plug for what ever your need. Good to deal with. He also has every possible Cat part you will every need IN STOCK. No longer a Cat Dealer but still services Cat sleds.
