Best riding i've done in BC is Revelstoke. And I stay at the Best western when I go. Good rates and you can watch your sleds on TV. I really don't know where you could rent sleds there.

REVELSTOKE is by far the best place for hill climbing
Sledhead_2002
Revy is a must but not the only place,

Revy Rentals, great Canadain snowmobile tours or something like that - Glacier house, Revelstoke snowmobile tours, and a few others around town. lots of lodging
Golden is another spot you can get to from Calgary, since you will prob be renting a car, good sledding and rentals too. Most places will drop the sleds off a the trail head.

From EDM: Valemount and Mcrbide area
Valemount rentals, Apline country rentals, Check out snowfarmers.com
McBride is norht of Vale, rentals are avail, but not sure where. Both of these places are about 3-4hrs outta edm

Some of the best I have found is Smithers BC, but there is no good places to rent and hard to find guides. It has huge areas, tons of snow, and you can ride all day without seeing another group of people! Part of that is because I grew up there and know just about every nook and cranny biggrin.gif

I live in Kelowna and yes there is some great snowmobiling around here. As mentioned Revelstoke is probably the best and most vast area in BC, but, 45 minutes out of Kelowna we have the Graystokes which is an awesome sledding area maintained by the Kelowna Snowmobile club. Lots of Kms of groomed trails. Powder meadows, bowls and hills to climb. Four rustic cabins with wood stoves to warm up and incredible scenic views of the Okanagan Valley, if there isn't too much cloud. Trails to Big White Ski Resort if you wanted to go there for lunch or even to rent sleds from there. Sled rentals from the resort come with a guide and a tour package. McCulloch and Idabel lakes have trail systems for family sledding as well. Bear Lake area has some excellent trails but not groomed. 30 minutes from Kelowna.
If you want to drive a little over an hour you can access Hunter's Range just out of Enderby. Some great sledding there, deeper and steeper than Graystokes. Best time of year for sledding around here is Late January to end of March.
And we're 2 hours from Revelstoke if you have your heart set on there.

By looking at your avatar, are you a Firefighter? I'm a Firefighter in Kelowna BC.
As for your question. Of course Whistler near Vancouver has some good sledding but being close to the coast makes for heavy, wet snow. I've heard they call it "elephant snot".
Kelowna is about 4 hours from Vancouver and sledding is sooooo much better. Our powder snow is unbeatable. Lots of hotels and a few places to rent sleds. flame.gif

Friends of mine that used to live in Vancouver say Revelstoke is indeed the best place to go. Hoping to make it there myself someday soon.
