I thought maybe there is some guys from Chemmy/Azilda/Dowling area might want to help out and improve our trails grinning-smiley-023.gif

We are meeting at Tim Hortons 9am Saturday Oct 14th in Chelmsford grinning-smiley-023.gif

So if you want to help your are more than welcome and you also get to meet other club members that keep the trails around our area in tip top shape grinning-smiley-023.gif

We are estimating we would be finished at 3pm or so depending on how many people show up

Currently we are 4 and with a maybe :cn:

So come on and lend a hand to help the Northbound Sno Drifters in improving our trails

This will benefit anyone traveling north of Chelmsford, coming from Fairbanks and south of Levack :div20:

will post pics tomorow night or Sunday of the new layover bridge
zoso
I can't help Sat but if you are going again Sunday I may be free let me know.
FreezerBurnt

Looks are deceiving

one side has a 90deg at 1.5 + feet

We are trying to make a safe way to cross it,not everyone is the gun it type

And if you gunned it and hit that 90deg :tease: you could be in a world of hurting

most winter the trail goes right across

but during huge warm ups or late season early season the creek is flowing

so we are putting a layover bridge beside the trail across the creek so we can avoid it early and late season

anyway gotta go to chemmy now :div20: its 820am
IndySKS
Nice markers and signs there for a serious problem

The trail will be running west and then cross the road at the old dump access rd. closer to the chateau guay. That is a Broder Dill trail not ours and don't ask why.

Apparently this is a groomed trail according to these Mud boggers :frech32:

This is what they said when asking if we would let them pass

They said they were going to play in the mud

WRONG ANSWER :frech32:

we would have let them pass but the bonehead got pissed

He started swearing at me when I took pics of them

The only reason I took pics was my car and a truck of ours were a mile up the road and feared it would be vandalized becuase they could not pass us

Good thing this is a small town and I know who they are :cn:

But nothing was done to my car or the truck :div20: when we went back a couple of hrs later

God I love my camera

Apparently they tried to cut down a huge tree up the trail to box us in too,but gave up,realizing a camera is worth its wait in gold if they did a bonehead thing

INDY SKS we did have slow signs a little further up and before to warn of the washout

still have a little work to do but the major part is done here at this layover

it is meant to be used early and late season

Nice work Freeze :beerchug:

"were going to play in the mud" :banghead:

I forgot my camera today :frech32: we brushed a few miles of trail today :div20:
Warpspeed
Keep up the good work guys, Glad to see the pics and that nothing happened to your vehicles.

FreezerBurnt
I could have worked OT today

HMMM OT or trail work :cn:

trail work :div20:

It felt strange mid Oct and snow on the ground about 5 miles from the layover they had around 10cm of snow on the ground

I was 95% sure nothing would have heppened to the car but you never know with people these days

We are hoping they or other people do not go out and wrecked the bridge on a later date

Good news many of our signs look like they made the off season quite well

we had a spray paint problem last year
FreezerBurnt
Did about 6hrs of brushing this yesterday Saturday Oct 21st alone

Could not ask for a better day to be out 7c partly cloudy and NO bugs

Had a hatchet and buck saw, next I will bring shovel

I did about five miles of trails

Wore a hunter orange hat,no need to get shot eh

Cleared new growth that were blocking the signs, and fallen trees

trenching so water can flow out of the quad ruts

We have had near record rainfall for the month of October here so lots of standing water

Almost lost and eye ,was cutting some some trees and a branch swung up got me right in the left eye,its a bit swollen and red but should be ok

I am saddened to see the amount of household garbage and contrator stuff on the side of the bush road and trails

It has gotten worse since the city imposed tipping fees at the dumps

+ the amount of Tim Horton cups is staggering

We had a couple guys with heavy machinery just south of Azilda during the week to re-route a trail to a better location near the hydro line also

Too bad its raining as I am willing to go out again today as I still do not have the parts to put my sled back together(track/coolant bottle and repaired rails)

Sorry no pics too busy grinning-smiley-023.gif

FreezerBurnt ... If I'd have known a bit sooner , I could have given you guys a hand . Next time I guess !!!!

On another note , doesn't the truck in your picture look a lot like the one in the background of my picture ?? LOL . I know the guy that owns it ... he's a good guy ... but loves mudding. He's not the type to vandalize anything.

FreezerBurnt
yup looks like the guy and that definetaly is the truck

I am sure he is not the vandalism type, but like I mentionned ,I realized my car and the other truck were a mile up the road I took the pics just in case

Might be going out Sunday to do more trail brushing

Depend how mouch snow we get,as if we get the foot they are saying I won't go ,no sled and walking in wet deep snow would be a pain

Well I can tell you the guy in the picture isn't him , because that's me in the picture after a day of riding during the spring and that's not my truck , but I know who's truck it is . LOL

I'd help you out on Sunday , but my quad needs to be worked on ... I got something causing a vibration ( which I think is the clutch) , so I don't want to chance anything .

Now that we are good chums, good job Freezer. Nice ride from there over to Fairbank Lake and then north. Some guy named Lamy (horseman)does the grooming and I've never seen it bad! :div20:
Lamy.......You stopped grooming that trail north of Chelmford, but the locals where still running, so we did. Got lost and ended up at the Rivest Barn.....lol :frech32:
