I have found any short comings with these skis , they work on frozen hard pack , good on packed powder , good in ice, good on wet spring snow, good in fresh powder. there maybe a better skis for one condition but I feel these are the best choice for a trail rider . I think if I had a chick that wanted high performance skis I would do a coin toss SLT or powder pros, the pps do add a small amount of steering effort.

I've got maybe 15,000 miles on Powder Pros. Very happy with them.
