I like the fact that my wife and daughter come out with me. They just don't go as often as I do. To each their own I guess.

Pretty soon we will be gasing up at Rocky's and heading to 3 bears camp in Shining Tree. I love that ride along the river!!! Hey Sudbury sledder........What's the name of that river? And have you ever jumped on it? I've always been tempted!

Thanks Zoso,,,,,,i made a wager with a buddy last winter after we had a few.......lol. He thought it was Wanahptei, but I was pretty sure it wasn't. I was wrong too! You know anyone who runs the vermillion river, I always see a few tracks from below the bridge running towards Lake Wanahptei. Looks like a fun ride for the brave few!

I have been up there many times and noticed a few tracks....no thanks for me....way to much risk to basically ride a twisting lake....although some Sunday afternoons that ice sure looks smooth compared to the washboard.

Vermillion does NOT go into the Wanahpetei btw
It goes west of Capreol behind Hanmer ,behind Chelmsford and Dowling then Whitefish

Ok, your buddy may have been correct, as I do not take c206d to get to shining tree I take op C from cap c follows the vermillion for a while yet c206d does in fact hook up with th e east wanapetei. So your friend may have been correct all depends on the trail you used to get to shining tree it is about 20 km fsarther for me to go across the lake then up as opposed to going right up c so i never really gavemuch thought to where you may heve been heading from .
