I was looking at the Skidoo microfiche at the 98 MXZ 670 and Formula Z 670 and i noticed that each only has one fuel filter at the outlet of the fuel tank. I just went and looked at my sled and i have that fuel filter AND one in-line to each carb. Does this seem like overkill to anyone ? I cooked a piston last year in one cylinder and i noticed that the in-line fuel filter on that carb seems different then the other one, i am wondering with all these filters the sled is starved for fuel. BTW i got the sled used and it came like this with the filters already installed.

Should i ditch them and just use the stock fuel filter that is at the gas tank outlet ?

I have 1 more question did the twin filters look new? even small engine filters should flow more than enough to feed your 670. I have put a extra filter on but use a clear inline automotive style one. paper filters varnish and will harden the areas that don't have fuel on them when they sit all summer.If a person uses them they really need to be changed out every year.
