I have heard some of both sides, but would like to know more reasons why to, or why to not extend to 136". I am a little worried about tight corners with a 136", but am I just nuts for thinking that? Let me know what are the pros and cons and what personal experience you have had with a Pro X and 136".

after making my pro x a 136 from 121 i would never go back to the 121" again. the 136 takes all the bumpers alot better, more tractions, and i didnt notice a difference handling wise from the 121, just as fast in the twistys as my buddys stock 121. can't really list any negatives about going to the longer track, everything has been positive for me. Do it

I think my 136" Pro-X handles as good if not better than it did as a 121".

I did the tracks usa kit , its held up just fine even with a pounding there isnt any cracks! I have heard the polaris kit moves the arms on the rails , by doing this most riders claim they ride softer/better ????? The polaris kit also has longer tunnel coolers , IMHO all prox and edge sleds dont have enough cooling so putting a long track kit in will make you sled run warmer then with a 121. I think it has to do with how the snow comes off the track and the lack of cooler in the rear , Basicly a oem aux cooler is a must unless you ride fluffy snow all the time.. Hard pack / frozen corn or ice is a sure fire way to over heat without some cooling aid (sratcher , cooler strips, aux cooler kit from polaris all seam to cure the problem). I agree with every thing prox man has said but if you feel a need to have 200+studs you will not be happy with how a 136 skid turns but even a 121 with to many studs will not turn. Good skis I feel is also a good idea with a long track , I dont think I lost any turning ability with my 136 with slp powder pros to a 121 with stock skis.

I am still debating this also, don't know if I want to stay with the 121 or go to the 136. A couple of questions... how much more track is really on the ground with the 136. and how can the handling be the same with the two????? There is more track on the ground!!!!!
Thanks

I used the Polaris kit and like the way it works. But they kept the crossover line in the same location as the 121" heat exchanger's so you don't get as much benefit from the longer tubes as you would if the crossover was moved to the rear. If you hold your hand on the heat exchanger there is a noticable difference from either side of the crossover hose.

I did a quick measurement, there is roughly 8 inches difference in the amount of track on the ground between a 121 and a 136. 121 was about 40 inches, 136 is about 48. Suprisingly, there is only a few inches differance between a 136 and a 144.

The 136 is by far the best sled I have ridden. I did not notice any issues with the length. We ride alot of tight trails and off trail swamps / fields. It is noce to be able to head off trail and not worry about getting stuck.

I did add a sencondary cooler in the rear of my sled because I did have cooling issues once.

do it

Quick way to figure how much longer your track will be is: New length - old length = X inches/2= X inches longer on the ground.

Ex. 136-121=15 15/2= 7.5" more of track on the ground. It's actually a little less than that. Only about 40-45% of your track is on the ground.

Anyone have pics of the installed coolers?

I am very happy with my 136", It really does not hurt the handleing that much. I think that the only time it is noticeable is in the beep snow and out of the hole.

i did the full kit and love it. very easy instructions to follow. dont ask about the handling part, just is as it is. do the 136 and thank me later by buying me a beer in a few years

well i did the tracks usa kit this summer havent riden it yet but i will, i dont really wanna put in a extra cooler if i dont have to but well see.

I'm running the O.E. coolers on my ProX, no extra ones installed. I've never had a problem with over heating the sled. Occasionally running the forest roads I'll dip off and hit the fresh snow but for trail riding (the only time you'd ever have a problem), my seld is within 2-3 degrees of what is was before I stretched it with the Tracks USA kit.

I haven't had any reason to install the aux cooler with my 136" and I'm running a higher compression head and a big bore.

i have a extra pair of 136" tunnel strip coolers for a edge/prox. brand new. best offer !

I had to get scratchers for my 01 600. Overheated a few times and i dont like it. I thought about doing the aux cooler this summer, but i figured i shouldnt have any problems this year in the UP. Plus, now with my scratchers I drop them and no worries, those fuckers throw some snow!!
