Well I got the 600 in. Put on the pro-x carb boots, intake boots, hotseat y-pipe, pipe, silencer, silencer holder, bellypan rubber(for silencer) put in the steering post/handlebars and such. Also got on the 136x2" track and 8 tooth extrovert drivers. Waiting on the mmp rail extensions so I can put on my 8" billets and my tunnel ext. Working on a oil bottle and some minor cooling system parts. Also stripped some weird stickers off the hood/tunnnel. Will also be putting on some type of small removable tanks on the tunnel extension. Also, I had to trim the rails for clearance on the drivers. I'll quit rambling on now and go to bed.

I like that white hotrod in the background lol. Post some more pics under the hood, and after you get the track ext. done...please :beerchug:

Do you have any pictures of the motor going in? I think i might put a 600 in mine too.
Thanks
xcrmaniac
I will get some pics of the motor tomorrow.
kozilla- the 600 bolts right up to the 440 motor straps. It is just a bolt in deal. You will need the pro-x carb boots, pro-x airbox boots, pro-x exhaust and some other little stuff.
Yeah the festiva is getting a little pony boost. It went from a 1.3 with 57 horsepower to a 1.6 with 78 ponies

xcrmaniac did you have any issue with the air box fitting in. I am put a 600 in my sled but the air box doesn't seem to fit well. I got the new boots for the air box. I heard some have to trim the air box a little for it to fit. I haven't done that yet. just curious if you had the same issues. Thanks
xcrmaniac
Good point red- I am having issues with the fitment. The airbox boots fit good, but I think the holes need to be hogged out a little bit- the center to center is a little different since the carbs are bigger.

are the drivers out of an IQ cuase i put the IQ drivers anti-ratchet drivers on my 04 proxr also and have some issues with them hitting the rail tips, how much did u trim your rails back and do u have ne pictures?
xcrmaniac
chub- I bought 8 tooth extros from wahl racing. I trimmed about 2 inches off the rails and I bolted the caps back on the ends. I don't know if it will work yet. I have to get it back in yet. I can sure get pics of the cut rails though.

The extrovert 'teeth' must stick out about an inch or so?

going to the 8 tooth driver should have reduced the radius of the round portion of the driver about 3/8".

I am a little suprised that you had to shorten the rails that much. Did you position your rear supension further forward or did you also roll back the chaincase?

How much rail tip clearnce do you have now?

Ok at least I am not the only one. Hopefully I can get my conversion done here shortly. No time to work on it right now. which sucks. Yours looks nice by the way

These 600 transplants are looking good.

You guys will really love how the ProXr handles with an extra 20 HP.

One little pointer if I may. The PTO carb ends up fairly close to the Torque Stop. When sitting in the shop it will look like there is plenty of clearance between the Carb Float Bowl and the bolts that hold the torque stop to the bulkhead. When beating down the trail the float bowl can come in contact with the top bolt and the pointed end of the bolt will rub a hole right in the corner of the bowl.

Look at this area very closely the next time the cowl is open. Consider removing the top bolt and cutting 1/4" off to prevent contact with the float bowl. It may look like there is plenty of clearance now but that clearance will disappear when beating down the trail or taking big jumps. FYI.

Keep up the good work.

Yes the drivers are a little smaller in diameter. I just guessed on how much to cut the rails. My buddy has an 04 prox 700 and I just did what he did. If it works or not, I don't know.
No, the suspension is in the stock holes.
I will let you know how much clearance there is when I put in the skid.

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely check it out. thanks for the compliments guys!

I also just got an oil tank that will finally work. I just have to weld a tab on the steering hoop and bolt it on.

nice sled. I put a tour buddy on mine for extra gas capacity. It isn't removable but it eliminates the need to stop and pour gas ino the main tank. They make one specifically for this model.

It doesn't work very well without a tunnel extension but, since you are doing one anyways, it is a great way to go. I even had room left over for a rear gas rack for extra gas or luggage.
xcrmaniac
I might get one if I can find a used one or a less costly one.
